There's more to life than just brain functions. There are emotions, plus the brain never sleeps while computers can be turned off.

Plus, we still do not understand consciousness. It remains a hard problem. And we do not even know for sure whether the brain creates it or is a transciever of it. Materialists say the brain creates it. Others say the brain is a receiver of it. So it really depends upon which of these is true.

We already know, thanks to Princeton Engineering that human consciousness can affect machines, like a random number generator and skew the numbers in one direction with intent. These experiments are been run for decades, thousands of times with results above chance, so it is clear consciousness can operate outside of the brain and is not restricted to the organism. This does not help the materialist view of consciousness, since that view would say that consciousness is only local to a brain, since it creates it. But if the brain receives it, it could also transmit enough of it to affect a random number generator.
