People are losing their gun rights all the time, and our Second Amendment cannot save them. Natural rights are recognized and secured as civil rights in our State Constitutions and available via Due Process. There is no appeal to ignorance of the law.

We have our federal form of Government, for a reason; to preclude unitary forms of Government which are more likely to do what you claim.

The federal government in its current condition is the form of government I am talking about. Our government is a plutocracy, not the republic that was put in place. The constitution is just another small hurdle that is overstepped regularly, but you think your natural rights are still intact? There are no such thing as natural rights, there are the rights designated and protected mutually between a government and its people, or by the intrusive nature of an overbearing government and enforced by force.

How can you pretend to have any rights when the government in its current state dictates, practices unethical behavior, and is at a corrupt level that has never been seen before?

We have more than one government, for a reason. We also have States, for a reason. The federal government only has traditional police power in the federal districts. And, to regulate Commerce among the several States.

How often are people charged with federal crimes in any given State. We don't have a unitary form of federal government like they do in Europe. That, also, is for a reason.

I claim it because it actually exists, even if it has to be litigated. There is no appeal to ignorance of the law. Our governments would not conduct themselves the way they do, if Persons would educate themselves more on laws before engaging in controversial forms of Commerce or activity.

All the fantasies about plugging heinous interlopers aplenty aside, we need to face up to the actual consequences of so many feeling insecure unless they have easy access to a gun.

The gun manufacturers' Washington lobby, the NRA, is not about to acknowledge such far-too-common incidents.

Well, if you go back and reads the words of the founders, they wanted citizens to be armed in order to be a countervailing force to a standing army and/or to a central government that becomes tyrannical. BTW the rights of "the people" are mentioned in every instance in the Constitution in which individual rights were guaranteed.

The Revolutionary war started when the government at the time attempted to seize the weapons of the citizens of Lexington and Concord. Want to start another, try to seize people's guns.

On the other hands, the forces against freedom of individuals who want to invest all power in a tyrannical government (leftists in government and the MSM) never seem to acknowledge instances like these, which are far, FAR more numerous: https://www.nraila.org/gun-laws/armed-citizen.aspx

Actually, this is a paranoid delusion easily overcome by empirical data. The gun mystique enjoys an unprecedented permissiveness in the US.

In fact, per capita gun ownership in the US at 112.6 per 100 is far ahead of any nation of earth, the secod and third highest, Serbia at 69.7 and Yemen at 54.8 being far behind.

Rather than your knee-jerk retreat to a propaganda website, try to understand the anguish of a grieving father who may have once swallowed it.

Actually yes, if there is one American in the country, it is that individuals right. And the right of the people (to keep and bear arms) of course is merely a collective term with the individual implied. Why do you play games?

We have one of the largest incarceration rates in the world; felons are routinely denied and disparaged in their right to acquire and possess Arms.

Lets stop hiding behind the ideological boilerplate and honestly confront the daily reality of a gun-dependent nation.

If only he had backed over his toddler with the family car, life would be so much better? And calling the NRA/ILA website propaganda is absurd. They know more about the issue than a Tuna boat Captain knows about fishing. Please cease the mindless knee jerk mockery.

That right is found in State Constitutions, not our Second Amendment. I play word games for fun and practice.

Not when the shameless liberal welfare machine keeps pumping out the animals faster than the justice system can sort them.

Every State in the Union; here is how it is declared in the great State of California: All people are by nature free and independent and have inalienable rights. Among these are enjoying and defending life and liberty, acquiring, possessing, and protecting property, and pursuing and obtaining safety, happiness, and privacy.

The whiners and snivelers alienated from America must deal with those "liberal!" demons that fester in their noggins. No one else can do it for them.

Meanwhile, widespread bipartisan recognition of the futility of incarcerating an unprecedented number of citizens suggests progress will be made.

I have rebutted your argument... over and over and over again. Your issue has been litigated in the courts and the highest judicial branch in the government disagrees with you. Whatever you think you're saying has absolutely no meaning whatsoever.

    Pay attention for once:

The government has an objective in the Second Amendment. It is to insure the security of a free State. In order to meet that objective, the government guarantees that the Right of the people (a Right that existed before the adoption of the Constitution) shall not be infringed. The militia is regulated when the whole people have access to the tools (i.e. firearms) in order to fulfill the duties of a militiaman.

Doubtful. Any change to an amendment or a repeal would require ratification by 3/4 of the states or 38 states. Right now 39 states embed the right to bear arms within their respective constitutions, on six do not have any guarantees.

Newsflash, your throngs of thugs are hardly my America. But they are yours. Your liberal DNA is all over them. Wanna reduce them? Face the facts.

This is a State's sovereign Right, secured by our Second Article of Amendment: The defense and protection of the state and of the United States is an obligation of all persons within the state. The legislature shall provide for the discharge of this obligation and for the maintenance and regulation of an organized militia.

No sir, it most assuredly is NOT. A State's rights never trump unalienable Rights.

If the People actually understood how government is "supposed" to work, according to the constitution, the two party scam would have been eliminated shortly after Nixon, and most of the usual suspects who are still dabbling in interference would have been in prison, or stood against a wall, for proper disposal.
