Grass pastures sequestering carbon has been well known for decades inspite of what the latest anti-animal agriculture activists say. Tilling the soil to produce plant based diets emits far more carbon emissions than meat animals.
The current trend for sod busters is a no till sowing. I have been doing the same for the last seven years...
A cultivator tills the soil. Pulling the weeds is a viable option if one is only growing for their own needs.
That looks good for cover crops but would need major alterations for growing row crops. Even at that it would have very limited use.
