Here you will listen to the actual recorded final hour of the people of Jonestown. You will hear Jones getting help from his audience and you will also hear debate by the audience opposing what Jones wanted to do. Jones and a number of others speak that they died for socialism and communism. They truly believed in Communism. Jones said they were tired. A young man speaks that he wants to die as well. It shattered my perceptions given out by our media. Jones to put it mildly took responsibility for the death of a congressman (Jackie Spiers was also there and now is in the US house of representatives) though not present at the deaths of the residents of Jonestown. I think she was flying away when the deaths happened. First my early concept. Some nutty white guy talked them into dying and those not wanting to die were shot. Jones says on the tape he was black, a communist and was allied with the Soviet Union. He speaks of codes between him and Moscow. One woman pleads to be allowed to seek refuge in Russia. Jones in a mild manner discussion to her appears to have changed her mind. This is chilling to listen to. Very chilling how a black messiah got his people to die and he gives reasons for it. The tape has him talking but no gunshots are heard. So if they got shot, it sure was done by some very silent guns. Jones was shot in his head. I do not hear that gunshot. The results of pathology examinations conducted by Guyanese coroner Leslie Mootoo however, revealed his belief that as many as 700 of the victims were murders, not suicides. Mootoo claims that in a 32-hour period he, and his assistants, examined the bodies of 137 victims. They had all been injected with cyanide in areas of their bodies, which could not have been reached by their own hand, such as between the shoulder blades; many other victims had been shot. Charles Huff, one of the seven Green Berets who were the first American troops on the scene following the massacre, claimed that "We saw many bullet wounds as well as wounds from crossbow bolts." Those who were shot appeared to have been running toward the jungle, away from the compound, at the time they were shot. The discrepancy in the numbers of dead in the first reports, and the final figure had led many to speculate that approximately five hundred people had escaped the first spate of killings and escaped into the jungle, but were then hunted down and murdered. The descriptions of witnesses to the layout of the bodies, and the fact that there were obvious signs that many of the bodies had been dragged to their final resting place, tends to contradict the 'official' explanation that at the first counting five hundred bodies had been concealed by the other 408 bodies. ---------------------------------------- I won't be surprised if it turns out that they lied to us.
