There isn't one Islamist jihad group, and there isn't one strategy. There are many lone-wolves as well. Then. there's the soft-sell of sharia. http://onwardjames.blogspot.com/2011/09/strategy-of-thousand-cuts.html The jihadi think in centuries; whereas, we of the West, unfortunately, think in days, months, and years. Their code is: "Spread out and procreate, we will outlast them."
I think these guys are right to emphasise that there is no persuasive evidence that extremist or fundamentalist groups have been working on a well co-ordinated global basis . And to me the bitterest joke is that in the two countries that the US has spent trillions , there are few extremist terrorist groups . Freedom Fighters , yes . Warring tribal factions , yes . But not factions spending all their time and effort to target America on its own ground . In Afghanistan , Al Qaeda had essentially decamped to Pakistan and further afield by late 2001 . So when Bush et al conned the US and its allies to invade in order to fight World Terrorism, it was not the case . There were no Terrorists to fight .Since then , "we" have fought the Taliban which are a huge group of nationalists who don't want imperialists in their country . Sure they have unpalatable ideas and practises . But that is their business .And certainly not the business of a Land of gun toting fat people In Iraq , almost all the atrocities represent inter tribal hatreds . They are too busy slaughtering each other to have the time to carry bombs to the US or blow up American theme parks . US effort is the biggest and saddest joke on the globe in these two countries . And what we will now see is a move at last to co-ordinated global terrorist activity with huge effort against the US on its own soil . The US will finally reap the whirlwind through its own botched strategy .imo
