Again, just because you can do things like that doesn't mean you need to.

It's in the eye of the beholder, that's why it's a stupid law. I'm intimidated by morbidly obese people (they might collapse near me, and I'll be morally obligated to render first aid .. then held accountable by their feeder loved ones when CPR doesn't work).

Silly .. surely you don't think 'in name only' liberals are actually liberal? They're worse than religious conservatives when it comes to such things.

Really? I've been listening to them all my life, and I've not yet been afraid enough to call police.

That's not what I'm getting at. I'll say it again slowly: just because that guy has the right to wear a gorilla mask in front of black people, doesn't mean it's smart or necessary to do.

I didn't say he had no right to be there, I said it wasn't the brightest idea of his to do that. There's a difference, learn it.

I don't agree with what he did but BLM has done far worse than this guy did. If they don't like being treated this way then they need to stop treating people with violence. Treat people how you wish to be treated.

I don't like what the guy did and I will not defend him for it but BLM has done far worse. When will the left condemn them for everything they have done?

BLM has given themselves a bad image. I'm not suprised people are fed up with them. Don't defend this violent group.

Most police officers do not go around shooting unarmed black people. Black Lives Matters is out of control and needs to stop.

That's less ridiculous than saying one guy armed with a banana was intimidating an entire group of people.

No, that sounds less ridiculous, but are in reality the same thing. Like any lawyer will tell you, it all has to do with how it is described.

And you can take words in the law and make them mean whatever you want. What does "intimidate" mean? Could it, for example, mean a man was intimidated by the good looks of an attractive woman? Could it mean that protesters were intimidated when they saw a line of police show up outfitted in riot gear? You see how absurd these definitions are.

Well the question is, what exactly did this kid do to "intimidate" those protesters, and did those actions cross the line. The whole thesis of the OP is they didn't.

So he was arrested for how they felt about it, not exactly for what he did.
    That's what it sounds like.

According to this law and all the internet lawyers here, anyone that participates in a "counter protest" should be arrested under this same statute.

The guy is an idiot, but by no means should what he did be called a crime.

And I'm gonna be that guy and say the claims of racial slurs is at best suspect. You can blame John Lewis (among many others) for that.

Well you can look at the definition of intimidate.

One person in a mask carrying a banana isn't going to cause fear against an entire group of people in any "reasonable person" test.

But Black Panthers carrying clubs and weapons outside of a voting station are NOT intimidating enough to be arrested. Perhaps if they had been wearing costumes of some sort they would have been arrested for "intimidation?"

If he was intimidating people, that's bad, if not then he really shouldn't have gotten arrested.

But these officers who have shot unarmed and non-threatening black people, and even white people, don't need to stop?

Of course they do, but rioting in the streets isn't helping, is it? There are other ways to get a message across.

I don't think that MLK would agree at all with the tactics of BLM.

Apparently a peaceful gathering isn't getting it done either, seeing as how people are still being shot. Just look at the Australian lady who got killed a few weeks ago, or the black guy who got shot while being a caretaker for an autistic man.

Nobody will listen to riots. It is plain and simple. As soon as that happens, your cause and you are written off by the majority of Americans.
