Fox provided wall-to-wall coverage on the Egyptian situation and there is no way someone who watches Fox wouldn't know what's going on in Egypt.

This story is a lie planted in Huffington, which is a liberal website which doesn't bother to check the truth of their sources.

There is only one Right leaning news station out there and it is hated by the Left. All you have to do is look at the number of responses you get to any thread that has Fox in it and watch the way most of the Left uses the Fox name. Left Wing radio slams Fox as much as they slam Republicans. Anything they put out on Fox can be taken with a grain of salt.

Yes, but the left pretends their enlightened folk do not watch so noting the tiny number of folk counted who DO watch is a valid way to measure the accuracy of the poll.

More leftist propaganda to lull their left useful idiots into a state of stupefaction so they won't start questioning any of this leftist drivel.

it actually reminds me of parents who even in the face of the lie of the quality of public education STILL condemn home schooling BECAUSE to do other wise would show them up as do nothing, bad parents.

In a country where ALL the means of propaganda are owned by right-wing nutters and most of them by EXTREME right-wing nutters you suppose anyone is allowed to make 'leftist propaganda'? Check which is your elbow, if you can manage.

exactly. Total inability on the left's part to recognize that the majority of media is hard left leaning. You have ALL the tv media nad you feel the extreme need to destroy fox. This obviously means that you get NO other side of any matter except the left side.

now other than the alleged rightwing-edness of Rupert Murdoch, who are these right wing owners of the mainstream media?

Well, Ghengiz Khan doubtless thought he was dealing with a lot of tree-hugging lefties, but he was a primitive mad murderer. Obviously all your media support capitalism and prevent any criticism of it being heard, but the real weirdoes want to destroy even the pretence of free speech and thought and wing it back to the Seventeenth Century. It is not my job or my interest, kiddo, to try to distinguish between nutty media madmen.

Only in America does quantity trump quality. More is better, right?

You don't live in America so your knowledge of our country is too limited to be making such outrageous accusations.

Seems to me that many non-American posters know a hell of a lot more about America than many Americans do!

I'll amplify my previous post by saying that even that hero of the American right-wing, Bill O'Reilly, has demonstrated his utter ignorance on matters which are historically documented, more than once. That gets perceived as 'fact' by the gullible idiot Fox-watchers.

I admit that, to some degree, but I know lots of people who have been there and would say much worse. What statements that I made are 'accusations', let alone 'outrageous'? Do your media give critiques of capitalism? Is your Republican party eager to support the right of free speech for its critics? The trouble with you lot is that you believe this is about football teams called 'America' of 'UK' or whatever: it isn't - it is about the reality where the very rich in the 'States are getting enormously richer, the ordinary people are getting poorer and where all upward movement has stopped. And I get those statements from an (admittedly selective) reading of the capitalist Economist. I was always taught to read what capitalist say about real money rather than waste time on the propaganda it feeds the peasantry.

I primarily watch FOX because I get more of the story. Sure, they strut pundits out with strong opinions and sometimes pitch opinion as news. But they usually show both sides of the equation even though they are clearly conservative by nature.

Compare that to MSM. I watch as much as I can stomach because their one sided stance has blinded their better eye. They remind me of the joke; What do you call a one legged woman? Ilene.

As for world news I might test out lower than some because I'm not as interested in other countries as I am the USA.

This was a very uninformed statement by you:

I know that your side has this very simplistic view of our system where you think all the stockholders of our corporations are rich Republicans and therefore our news media is run by conservatives.

    But you're wrong.

Our mainstream media is definitely slanted to the left no matter who the major stockholders of CBS or the New York Times happen to be.

It is so slanted to the left that an admittedly imperfect news organization like Fox News can come along and dominate the ratings over the older, more established names just by being more fair and less liberal than the competition.

I have seem critiques about capitalism on FOX. I've seen coverage of OWS from all major news outlets. Does that count?

Funny thing about the rich, they usually get richer. So what? It is their life to live. They are free to do so. It is an expression of liberty. Funny thing about the poor, many are content to be poor and have no ambition to change it even if they might complain. In the USA 42% of the "poor" own their home and still get some form of assistance. Then there are the "pass through poor" who are down and out for a time, get traction again, move on. There are young adults who struggle to gain a foothold in life who pass through. There is a lot of movement in the category of poor. It isn't as static as you might think.

Sorry - you don't have a left, except very comparatively - just right-wing conservatives and extreme reactionaries. I'd not pretend the Burmese generals were freedom-fighters either. We must speak as we find.

Many Democrats think people who listen to Fox are stupid, but it's obvious that many Democrats have been told a lie and half truths. Don't know as much as they think they do.

I'd like a dime every time I have heard a Democrat say Bush is responsible for this economy crashing. WRONG

Same with complaining Bush cut taxes during a war. Well Bush only cut taxes 3% less than it was under Clinton. Democrats cut it 21% in 1965 during the Vietnam war and added Johnson's war on poverty program on top of that, which cost billions.

This is Faux's argument: "1. Look at our ratings: we are number 1!". As if popularity equals quality. Faux News is just about as popular as MTV Jackass, Jersey Shore, Jerry Springer, Kardashians...! This is America: People like to watch crap.

Geeze Iolo, I'd hate to see your vision of a perfect left world.

Our country started off right, then doubled back into oblivion. We are so far away from where we started that now it has become a right to own a cell phone, to have a house, to buy a hamburger with a government welfare card. I'm wondering, would I be in a crowded cell full of conservatives in your pretty little world?

We'll just have to agree to disagree.

But I have an advantage over you in the sense that my opinion of our news media counts whereas as a foreigner who does not live in this country your opinion doesn't count.

So then why not start threads about how stupid the viewers of MTV Jackass, Jersey Shore, Jerry Springer, Kardashians are?
