Study: The Liberal Media’s Summer of Pummeling Trump

The broadcast network evening newscasts remain as hostile as ever towards President Trump and his agenda, although the networks appear to be easing up on their obsessive wall-to-wall coverage of the administration.


Since Inauguration Day (January 20), Media Research Center analysts have reviewed every mention of President Trump and top administration officials on ABC’s World News Tonight, the CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News, including weekends. As of August 31, coverage of the administration has totaled nearly 74 hours (4,418 minutes) of airtime, or about 39 percent of all evening news coverage.

For comparison purposes, coverage of the Obama administration in all of 2015 and 2016 totaled 59 hours (3,544 minutes), or roughly 10 percent of the available broadcast airtime. In other words, Trump has already received more coverage in his first 224 days in office than Obama received in his final two years as President.


Analyzing the networks’ spin makes it clear that the goal of all of this heavy coverage is not to promote the President, but to punish him. In June, July and August, broadcast evening news coverage of Trump was 91 percent negative — worse than the astounding 89 percent negative spin we calculated during the first three months of the administration, usually a traditional honeymoon period for new presidents.

We have Leftists using Public Airwaves to push their agenda onto the U.S. populace. I am not calling for censorship of these politicos disguised as "journalists" as this is what Leftists would do if this was in reverse. They are authoritarian.

I find it important for the U.S. Populace to be aware of the slanted, deceptive, and at time out right lying that the major networks engage in.

We need to be vigilant as free citizens to know when forces are at work to manipulate the populace with heavily biased information.

 

And the left response will be that there's nothing good to say about Trump. Just one example of this false statement would be the stock market which the media tends to ignore. Then there's all the things conservatives think is good that Trump has done and Democrats think is bad which proves the media bias here in the way they report.

I agree and am not sweating it. I do like exposing it repeatedly. I remember when Leftists tried to argue all the time that their coveted National News Media was not biased. We have dispelled that myth, marginalized their lying heroes, and beat them for thousands of seats nationally even with their media lying to the public. I want to keep exposing the lies, bias, and dishonesty of their propagandists. The public is becoming aware that Leftists are sheep and are rejecting their media and its message.

According to Trump's approval numbers, the news is just reflecting the general view of his incompetency as well as the increasingly obvious corruption of his administration.

Besides, the methodology is laughable. Comparing the last 2 years of a presidency with the first 224 of the Trump presidency? How is that even comparable? The 2015-2016 news cycle was pretty much fixated on the 2016 presidential election.

Applying what was obviously a bullshit subjective metric for what constitutes "negative" coverage of Trump = right-wing propaganda.

 

You mean sort of like all those objective polls that had Clinton winning in a landslide? That media? Oooops=) But they're trustworthy and have no agenda? Don't you think that perhaps the MSM wouldn't do a study excoriating themselves? That leaves it to those you might not agree with? And in that case, it means ANY study revealing the MSM for exactly what it is, can never be trusted by people like yourself, because you enjoy sticking your head in the sand and living in an info bubble.

I'll admit some of their conclusions are a little ridiculous. I can accept that because I'm not a partisan hack. However, other conclusions are simple stats that you can't really argue with. And anyone who can't see the simple facts in horrible media bias when it comes to Trump...are a lost cause.

Regardless of how many times right-wingers repeat their favorite meme, the polls were accurate in terms of the popular vote with most being well within the margin of error. The EC projection models were faulty because the difference came down to about 60,000 votes spread across a few swing states.

So no matter how you spin it, Trump still had almost 3,000,000 fewer votes. Hardly providing a mandate by "landslide".

 

I did look at the methodology. It's garbage.

We all know that mentioning Russia and Trump in the same sentence is considered "negative" by right-wingers.

Is anyone surprised that our attention whoring Bumbler-In-Chief receives more media attention? He does everything in accordance to how it would affect his viewing "ratings."

 

Media Reseach Center has never been a credible source for anything other than right wing spin.

It was originally established as part of the Get Clinton effort in the 1990's, and has been rabidly hyper partisan ever since.

They run the Leadership Institute, the training ground for fake investigative journalists like O'Keefe, and the folks at "Campus Reform" ,, both of whom specialize in faking videos for the internet. Of course, the Leadership Institute's most famous early graduate was Jeff Gannon, a gay prostitute who the Bush White House promoted as a conservative journalist and inserted into the White House press corp.
