Democrats are back in charge in NYC and this is the result. If they manage to steal the election and gain power nationally this will be the norm in America.

"The increase in violence has given rise to fears that the city could be returning to darker times, decades ago, when residents feared for their safety amid a crack epidemic. The new crime wave comes as the city also grapples with a faltering economy and pressure to enact police reforms championed by racial justice advocates."

Trump has been in office since 2017 and violence has only increased in the country.

Evidence that there is a correlation between the type of governance and the degradation of the social fabric.

    1) If you are a visitor and you don't feel safe in NYC, don't visit.
    2) If you are a resident and you don't feel safe in NYC, move away.

    ^Problem Solved.

    correlation doesn't equal causation.

Who is president has no impact on whether a particular individual decides to engage in acts of violence.

To argue otherwise does show us a lot about you though.

Lefties out there causing violence and say “ look what trump made us do!”

and people fall for it lmao

when the left loses they cause violence then blame the right. Then use that as evidence the right can’t govern lmao. They have to, the right outperforms them in every way.

    Yeah.

I visit a couple times a year and I have never felt unsafe walking around in Manhattan.

Obviously there are certain areas to avoid, but it is like that in any big city.

There are certain parts of Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx but unless one is there for nefarious reasons, it's fine. In some parts, an out of state plate will get you pulled over. And the police will not treat you well :)

    Association not causation.

The more likely explanation which we see all the ti9me is as gthe OP states a mix of covid, bad policing and the general of violence of the left, which did increase with Trumps election but only because the left hates dissent.

so Trump tries to defund NYC, keep money from our police, refuses to bail us out during economic depression and then blames us for rising crime????

    he's such an ass.

Psst.... your side is the side that hates the police and wants to defund them... you burned down cities to pass that specific message to the rest of America.

Trump started withholding Federal money for police in 2017.

$500 million to fight terrorism was prevented from going to NYC.

No one is forcing you to live here or even visit here.

Trumpers and conservatives are welcome to stay out of NYS and NYC.

We’re doing fine and thanks for the fiction from FaUX. It’s very entertaining!

so they work in NYC but live in the suburbs?

    who cares.

vast majority of NYers are staying put.

all this bullshit about the city "dieing" is nothing but Trumpster propaganda.
