About 10 years ago I bought a little program called Photoshop Elements from Adobe. I wanted to move it from an old computer to a new one. Adobe requires that you deactivate it on the old computer so I started that process.

In order to deactivate it I had to log into my account. When I got to the password the site told me I needed to change my password. But in order to change my password I had to enter a code which was mailed to my email address. The problem is that the company that carried that email address went out of business years ago and the email address is just as dead.

So I looked for some support from Adobe since they created this problem. I looked for a support phone number. No such thing. I tried for a support email or chat. Neither exist. The self help on the web site has nothing related to my issue. I tried the forum but that, too requires the same login. The company has shut itself off completely from its customers, particularly those who set up an account under an email address that no longer exists.

So we are busy closing small businesses (more than 130,000 so far) while we protect companies like Adobe which has grown too large to succeed.

So I either need to throw out the software and chalk one up to experience or I need to send the software to the CEO as a gift with a letter explaining why he is receiving it. What would you do?

You don't need the same account to log in to their community forum or website, you can just create a new logon using your current email address, so you should be able to access that and get some help. Good luck.

True I'll give that a try. Thanks.
