Them American own industrial plants are going broke over this. lol
Stocks of US automakers dropped a good amount in 1 day.

As if just closing down shop in 1 country, and opening it somewhere else is easy and free.
US investments of billions are going up in smoke, because of their own president. LOL

The US got what they deserve. That's for sure.

Duh. It has to get ratified by all three countries. Slapping punitive tariffs on Mexico ain't gonna get the deal ratified.

As I thought you think you can piss on a partner and not get any splashback. True trumpism.

I think it is obvious that Trump proposes all those tariffs and then backs off later when the bribes to whatever sleeze he is running come in. Starting to look like Trump is turning America into a criminal enterprise for his own benefit.

Probably wasn't going to get ratified anyway,
Trump said he was not going to work with Congress anymore.

We are talking about a China that ignores our copyright laws and steals our technology and a Mexico, whose biggest industry is shuttling poor people into America illegally so they can send money back home. Let them squeal.

Trump has not said he won't ratify the trade deal. It's entirely separate from punative tarrifs.

Trump can't ratify the trade deal. Its a congressional power.

And it also requires both the Canadian Parliament and the Mexican Congress to ratify.

Canada already has insisted that the "national emergency" metal tariffs be rescinded or definitely no ratification.

It would help if you actually had a clue, but I realize that is not necessary in trumpland.

Trump has to sign the bill and he has made no claim he won't as another poster suggest.

Yeah, he wouldn't sign his own trade deal. Go it alone, that is the path to greatness.

China likely thinks they can wait Trump out 17 months and then go back to business as usual after the election.

That's a very risky bet imo.

Every mention of impeachment strengthens China against US workers and farmers.

Trump has China in a bind. If Xi attends the G20 he will look like he is possibly willing to negotiate. China has never negotiated anything they have attained. Never. On the other hand, if Xi does not attend and negotiate, then Trump can crush their economy with the next bout of tariffs. China's economy right now is not in great shape and Xi will have the economy and people to deal with. Already companies are looking for other avenues besides China for resource paths.

Trump has done to China what China has done to the US forever. Effusively praise the leader while dropping the hammer. Don't forget that North Korea is part of this since it is just a buffer for China and the US has actually achieved in NK what no other President ever has.

Yea, that is bad, but that also helps to destroy globalization.
Remember the process of globalization is to take your money and invest it to other countries without paying taxes.

China did not do anything to US, it is US did it to itself. Rich Americans screwed an American middle class. They have made their thirty pieces of silver but killed the goose that laid the golden eggs.

You mean politicians have done and no one but Trump has ever attempted to tackle the imbalance. I give him kudos for that.

Whoever is responsible, well, that's a whole lot of elites. However, without Trump nothing ever would have been done about it; no possible remedy would ever have been mentioned.

I just dont understand any critics of us utilizing our buying power to get better deals and or more tariff/tax revenue. The far left crying to the rafters about Trump again are not making sense. They are quoting and using Wall Street analysts as sources, the very same front men for the elites that began deconstructing the US middle class by mass movement of our buying and production of factory jobs and products 40 years ago??

It makes no sense. In one conversation the left can support socialism and the 1% elite who have destroyed the middle class and keep a straight face. As long as its bashing Trump? Logic can jump in a lake.

As far as China is concerned, I bet it has oppositte effect of all these leftist fears. They have been owning us for decades because our trade negotiators are punks. Times have changed

I have this picture of Tim Apple sitting in his office complaining to his staff about Trump wanting him to build a city to house 350,000 assemblers so he can supply $7.50 in labor to build an iPhone.
He's probably equally grumpy about Trump wanting to add $250 to the cost of a US iPhone to keep him from saving $15 in labor.
