Meh.... Was just responding to the title of the thread. I've put in about as much effort as the topic deserves.

Your signature, "Your right to privacy - "freedom from unwarrented government intrusion into your personal and private affairs." is rather ironic given the topic of this thread

That's for sure. This Fugazi guy thinks I'm supposed to research every detail of this story before I post it when this story boils down to, "typical feminist BS again," just like most of feminism is BS

I know and I stand by that quote, please don't mistake my berating you for this topic as me agreeing with the proposal based on the information you provided about the party proposing it-it becomes less of a valid debatable item and more of an agenda pushing one.

    Take care

It looks like claiming there are health benefits to peeing sitting down is just another typical lie promoted by feminists to influence public policy people are forced to pay taxes to enforce .

Urologist says there is absolutely no benefit to peeing sitting down.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/men/thin...king-a-stand-against-peeing-sitting-down.html

Make no mistake, this is not about men's health or hygiene this is another attempt by feminists to emasculate men.

The question wasn't directed at you and the OP author already replied "feminist BS again" BTW I totally agree with you that to try and implicate this rule would be foolhardy at best.

Yes - not too far from where I live actually. This stuff is nasty - the spear grass will pierce Denim - even finding a convenient bush is troublesome when you live in country like this

I have come to the conclusion that everything in Australia sucks and will kill you.... what's you're national anthem.... a scream? lol

it still is feminist BS. The arrogance and moral superiority that they think they can legislate that a man must sit to pee is absurd. They don't take into account of how such a rule is to be enforced. Noone has denied it's unsanitary to sit on a toilet seat that has urine on it.... But sprinkling (or should I say, tinkling, lol) some "the sky is blue" facts on agenda does not make their proposal any less unenforceable.

but, prey tell, how would you suggest to enforce such a law (if it did pass)

I actually gave two ways I thought it could be enforced,

    a. bathroom monitors (which wouldn't work because of privacy laws)
    b. mandates to construction of offices with shared bathroom being required to have both a urinal and sit down toilet. (much more realistic, but still, there is no way to prevent a guy from still using the sit-down toilet to pee while standing up)

do you have any other suggestions?

I do have one more suggestion... women clean the seat and then wash their hands thoroughly afterwards. I'm sorry you got the short end of the stick on the standing to pee issue... I wasn't consulted when designs were being approved.... but I will not sit to pee, no matter how unhygenic it is to the girl that follows me.

I already said how to do it, a pressure sensitive reactive toilet. You dont sit, it reacts.

better. but is this new technology yet to be invented? The only thing a quick google search for 'pressure activated toilet' is showing how the toilet will flush after you get up after.... nothing about how you could make a guy sit to pee.

what about the fact that it could be cost prohibitive

I was referring to feminism, not how men take a leak. I don't think that most feminists care about how men pee.

How about you just reverse the controls, if you dont sit, it launches what the last guy left at you?

    or

How about this whole silly subject go down the drain? :D

I think its kind of nice when guys will put the seat down, after they sprinkle, but
I dont expect to be able to civilize them. They will do it on their own, or not.

    - - - Updated - - -

At bottom ( :D ) its really just about some common decency. Dont do something gross for others to have to deal with.

maybe in fantasy world that would work... but in reality, you know good and well, that's as realistic an option as "pi$$ police"

my fiance and I have a "put both seats down when you leave" rule. That way, since I have to lift the top seat to pee, I grab both, and then put both down, but if I sit, I still have to lift and lay. So, in essence, both of us have the same amount of work as far as lifting a lid and closing a lid, everytime. It works for us. My argument is it can never be legislated

that's fine... but you can never legislate common courtesy.... in fact, if a law were passed saying I had to sit to pee... I would pee on the seat on purpose in protest of the bad law. Backlash would be worse than the original problem.

I text and drive MORE because of the law than I ever did prior to a law

it would be dumb to try to legislate it. And Im glad you found a way for you and yours to
    accommodate eachother.

us accommodating each other is one thing.... having feminists propose laws is another.

And so is afternoon tea. That is also different.

The number of dumb laws on the books of every community large and small is staggering, and more bad laws are being proposed faster, Im sure, every year.

n this case, I wonder if anyone really wanted to pass a law, or just call attention.

Why the focus on feminism, I wonder? Is your concern just about bad law proposals?
