So apparently this bad guy riding a motorbike was targeted while overtaking a vehicle with this family in it.

Can't wait until our police get such drones .. go after those "Unclean" folks who are not vaxed .. and if a few civilians get toasted in the process .. no worries .. is for the good of the collective.

Not so much about that -- and US is not only one's using these things.. we have a serious drone war going on -- that no one is discussing.

It's all good in the hood when we use these things in other lands killing civilians . how long till these things get turned loose on us ? .. I mean really . if it is OK to use these things for civilian operations . operating in neighborhoods - not in a war situation .. why not here in the USA .. is some family in Syria.. having lunch in their apartment .. so different than a family in the US ?

Its not like this is a one off... they often toast off civilians when using these drones - but even if this wasn't the case .. its still wrong on many levels. Would we be ok if some foreign nation started targeting bad guys on US soil .. a few civilians here and there .. no matter ?

I feel sorry for the dudes piloting these things .. killing a family is .. killing a family... but no worries .. soon we will have AI operating these things .. then no one to blame .. or feel bad.

Who knows what they are doing there .. what the goblins are up to ... but, sure ..indirectly this would help Assad... although .. don't think Assad is real happy about US drones flying in his air space .. nor the Israeli strikes .. which are provoking and poking Iran ..

Its just a mess .. all around .. but, point of this is not syria so much as the use of drones to do the dirty work .. in non wartime actions (not that this would matter as shouldn't ever be used in cities .. civilian populations) killing people .. without due process .. and taking out ton's of civilians in the process.

Its quite obscene .. how the public has been hardened to accept such things .. speciallly "judeo Christian" cultures ... obscene violation of the Golden Rule .. the rock on which HeyZeus built his Ministry.

Any US military action in Syria is the same. Dead is dead.

So obviously they are getting better.
In the 1940's they would take out whole suburbs just to bomb a factory
    from high altitude.

So what allegation was made against the target of this strike?

Makes no difference what the allegation is - as it will not justify illegal actions in foreign lands - and the killing of civilians .. so strike that one from the "desperate attempts to apologize for atrocity" list.

Meanwhile Russia has massed 170,000 troops on Ukraine's border, along with provisions
for fuel, medicine, ammunition for an extended campaign.
But let's rage about someone getting hurt by the Americans as they hunt a terrorist....

Sorry, it makes all the difference, particularly if it's ISIS.
    I don't accept moral equivalency.

What does Russia going to war have to do with killing civilians in Syria ? .. and how would you know this fellow was a "terrorist" ?

While the Pentagon lies fairly regularly ... false narrative .. and so on - nowhere has this been more true when Syria is in the conversation.

That you would deflect to Russia -- in desperate attempt to apologize for atrocity is - in of itself disturbing. The deflecting to Russia part .. so will deal with each separately.

Is the bar for our Foreign policy "Russia" ? ... Oh . . if Russia does it .. . its OK if we do it. I suppose that is rather fitting -- given the authoritarian direction we have been going. Defend the lack of transparency in our Gov't by pointing to Russia.

Yes Pooh ... Lack of Transparency is what makes a Gov't "Authoritarian" .. so that is the disturbing part w/r to deflection to Russia.

As per the apology for atrocity .. YOU are claiming .. that because there was some bad guy .. in foreign land .. its ok to kill a bunch of civilians in the attempt to take out bad guy.

Gotta love the Neocon's in the crowd :) So Should Iran or other foreign nations start taking out our "Bad Guys" - with drones .. the topic which you have completely avoided .. the problem of the drones .. any comment on that or was apologizing for atrocity just too overwhelming.

It's the tactic of the Left to isolate issues
and when it suits them - connect issues.
We can be sure the guy the Americans
was after had some 'value' to them - he
wasn't out running errands for his mother.
How would we know? Because there's
millions of men out doing errands and
you can't kill them all for domestic duty.

Hamas uses this tactics. Only 'civilians'
are ever killed. Oddly Israel can't hit a
    single Hamas soldier.

If you are concerned for peace, then
what Putin is doing at the moment should
be the hot button issue. It can easily lead
    to nuclear war in Europe.

It is not just about this one incident .. this one bad guy .. but again .. why are you apologizing for even this one.. railing on about some left wing Ad Hom fallacy as if this addresses the issue coherently .. and as if this applies to me .. as my arguments against Blue are way better than yours.

then you are rambling on about Israel ..trying to deflect in any way possible from addressing US policy .. We are not talking about Israel policy .. one rabbit hole to the next in desperate attempt to avoid and deflect from reality. now address the question.

Should other nations start targeting bad guys in our nation and other nations in general with drones ...

Assad holds office in a much more legitimate fashion than Biden holds office. He was legitimately elected several times. Biden was installed by dirty bastards, whoever they are.

What difference does it make if its an ISIS bad guy .. Al Qaeda Bad Guy .. Palestinian Bad guy .. Iranian Bad Guy .. Its our "Bad Guy du Jour" special of the Day .. bought to you by your local State Sponsored (Pentagon) Propaganda Factory - who lies like a sidewalk .. false narrative central .. especially w/r to Syria ..

but that aside .. what difference does it make .. Should Nations start taking out "bad guys" .. in other Sovereign nations with drones.

What moral equivalency ..? you are the only one engaging in silly tricks .. answer the question ..

I don't see the significance of this being a drone strike. Had they used a manned aircraft, the results would have been exactly the same. Drones don't kill people, people kill people.

The police never going to be using this kind of drone any more than they're ever be using F15s or cruise missiles.

The significance of this event being a drone strike is that it WAS a drone strike. Sorry for stating the obvious.

More significance is that, as other posters have pointed out, this has been going on through numerous successive POTUS administrations, since Dubya and Barack began it. Numerous successive POTUS have blood on their hands. Hundreds or thousands of innocent people have been executed by the US government.

So if it had been a strike from a manned aircraft or a ship, it wouldn't have been a problem? They could have made exactly the same political and military decisions, used exactly the same munitions and ended up with exactly the same outcomes. The nature of the delivery platform seems fairly meaningless to me. I sure it's meaningless to the family (and the actual target for that matter). Drones are just the latest boogyman emphasised to try to make it seem even worse (somehow?!).

"The police are never going to be using drones to kill people" - Quite the fortune teller you are

but what about other nations sending drones - to the US - to kill the bad guys ? or Nations using drones in general to go after "bad guys" in other nations.

and there are many difference between an unmanned drone and F-15 ...

It IS meaningless which platform delivered the murder. Yes, we agree on that. The US government has been committing military aggression against innocent countries all over the world for decades, long before today's drones came on the scene. Immoral men have run the government for decades, long before the drones.
