    Reuters currently has an article pointing out that many states are diverting funds meant as assistance to needy families to promote their Christian ideals.Total cash assistance nation wide has decreased from $14 billion to $7 billion but federal assistance has not declined.Arkansas spent only 4% of it's TANF(Temporary Assistance to Needy Families) budget in cash assistance to needy families,the bulk was spent promoting two parent families and cutting out of wedlock pregnancy.Mississippi spends it's TANF funds on abstinence only sex education programs,Louisiana spent only 4% of it's TANF on needy families the bulk going to alternative to abortion programs.Maine spends much of it's TANF funds sending kids to Christian summer camps,while Connecticut uses TANF funds in compulsive gambler assistance programs.So when you curse out welfare assistance you are more than likely cursing our some so called Christian scam that has figured out how to latch on to TANF funds no doubt with in state political assistance and personal gain.

    The FACT that financial aid intended for the nations poor is being miss directed to fund right wing political religious causes is disgusting and a total violation of public trust.

    I think we progressives are suffering from outrage fatigue. Every day we are besieged with one outrageous story after another that normally would consume the news cycle for days. Instead, Capt. Chaos is foisting so much shyte on the country 90% of it is lost in the shuffle.

    MY MISTAKE the article is from the ATLANTIC it is on the MSN main page today,titled,"Welfare money is paying for a lot of things besides welfare."

    Maine is not a Red state.

    If they're doing this, there's probably a practical reason.

    Maybe most of the organisations hosting summer camps are Christian, so it just happens to be easier to hop onto already existing programs.

    No I am a Catholic which is as Christian as you can get.Money supposedly allocated to aiding the poor and underpriveliged should o0nly be used for that purpose and not to make some fake Christian wealthy.
