President Trump is having two. That's "2" M1 Abrams tanks displayed during the July 4th parade in Washington D.C.

Many members of the media act like he is preparing to impose martial law. Seriously. I've heard more than one commentator claim that the "only reason to display military hardware so prominently is to scare someone either foreigners or our own people. And with President Trump its probably our own people".

This isn't the first time tanks have been displayed as part of a celebration in Washington D.C. and the U.S. routinely has combat aircraft overfly the beginnings of major football games both pro and college. Hell a few times we had F-16s overfly the Pine Tree Festival Parade in Dierks and we always had some soldiers march.

Yeah, I know President Donald Trump is a repulsive and loathsome individual. Every day I pray he gets bored with being president and decides to resign for "health reasons" or whatever.

But having a couple of tanks and other hardware at a July 4th parade is hardly worthy of criticism.

This is nothing but a new excuse to criticize Trump. And the Trump haters are having a field day. Relax pilgrim.

I have no problem with a celebration as long as it is about the USA and not about President Trump.

This military display from the coward who claimed to have bone spurs to avoid military service and possible deployment to Viet Nam. What a p*ssy!

Dayton3, look at the positive side of this event. It gets under the skin of the malcontent lefties and for that reason alone Trump has accomplished his goal. The further he can separate himself from that gaggle of hand waving pandering buffoons on the debate stage, the closer he gets to re-election.

You know that separating the U.S. president from the U.S. is not always possible.

It's very possible. For those that have served in the military under multiple Presidents, you learn to take pride in your job, your outfit and in your country despite who is the CiC at that time. Just because Carter was President did not mean that I did not fly the American flag whenever possible.

Dayton3, in many respects I share your opinion of Trump but seeing the reactions from a segment of this country, their childish and dangerous behavior, I have moved solidly into President Trump's corner. Honestly, I have never been so entertained during my five minute segments of MSNBC or CNN. It is laugh out loud comedy gold.

No argument but Obama is no longer president and please tell me every minute of every day during the obama administration major newspapers, media outlets, and late nights "comics" were devoted to bashing and hating on obama and his family.

I can't laugh. The behavior of the Trump haters disturbs me a great deal. I loathe watching and listening to the president as well. Only the fact that its not President Hillary Clinton or President Bernie Sanders lifts me up.

This should be non partisan not a political statement. That would cheapen the celebration. The President should take part as a representative of all the people of this country

So, he changed his mind and now respects the military, unlike other presidents Obama and Clinton. Good for him.

As is their right under the Constitution as long as it's not considered libelous or slanderous. As it's those same entities and comics rights (devoted) to 'bashing and hating', as you put it, Trump and his family. You seem to be the one, of many, having some sort of problem with so-called Trump haters/bashers. If it gets under your skin so much here's a thought...scroll on by those threads. But of course one can only hope.

July 4th isn't about the President what so ever. This is nothing more than an inferiority complex from Trump trying to make up for his shortcoming because he claimed deferments during Vietnam. His way of saying that he is a "patriot."

Oh Clark, you so have me wrong. I have posted hundreds of times how much I enjoy the malcontent Trump haters. Aside from the couple dozen or so I have on "Ignore" because they are just flat out trolls, I think the handwringing and gnashing of teeth from the usual suspects is the most entertainment one can have over a cup of coffee. I wasn't always this enthralled, but in the few days following the election, it was easy to see this was going to be a great ride and I am grateful for their wonderful contribution, and now as their rage continues to ramp up, for me, it has blown into full blown schadenfreude. (I will let you DuckDuckGo that baby)
As for the television "stars" and wannabees, they have introduced me to HULU, Netflix, and Sling, but I do still catch the first two or three minutes of Chris Tingle up my leg Matthews or Rachel Mancow just to watch them actually turn red, spit and stammer after Trump has poked them with some irrelevant tweet.
Probably will record the parade because I detested them while in the military and playback after CNN and MSNBC have told us all how horrible it was.
God, life is great, don't you think?

As a United States Air Force Viet Nam era veteran who served in South East Asia you'll have to pardon me if I don't share your views of Trump's so-called mind changing. I have absolutely NO respect for the 'bone spur' coward.

The military chiefs feel the same way. The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Marine General Joseph Dunford, will be attending Trump's ceremonies.

Trump spoke for his generals, insisting that they are "thrilled" to be taking part in his celebration.

Joint chiefs will not be attending. The chiefs of the army, navy, air force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and the vice chair all found they other plans.

I see. So, according to you, the chiefs of the army, navy, air force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and the vice chair are "malcontent lefties" because they are boycotting Trump. The Fourth is a celebration of America, not military might, and they refuse to politicize the military.

The draft dodger has no experience with the military. He doesn't realize, but the military chiefs do, that bragging about America's military might cheapens it.

I don't expect you to understand that. You are the kind of man who is happy when Trump pisses off lefties.
