Just wanted to take the time to thank the Tea Party for stiffing me in the wallet. While they're playing a "high stakes poker game," I'm going to lose extra money come January.

2012 can't come soon enough, we need to get this ********* assclowns out of the office.

Explain how borrowing from Medicare, which is already broke, is a good solution to the payroll tax problem. And while you are at it, explain how a 2 month extension is going to solve anything. You really think businesses plan out their hiring based on 2 month time frames?

And besides, don't you liberals want higher taxes anyway?

Please explain to me why the Republicans chose to stiff 160,000,000 Americans in the wallet rather than increase income taxes 1.9% for 345,000 millionaires?

Liberals only want taxes on the "other guy", they do not want their policies to effect them. We need to raise revenue (including raising taxes on income taxes for lower 48%) and reduce spending (in all agencies, including defense) across the board.

Funny...When the Bush tax cuts were to expire liberals said it would not be a tax increase, it was simply going back to the old rate. And now, liberals change the story and call going back to the old rate an increase. Can these people ever get their story straight???

Considering Obama has been running the country "off budget" for over 2 years now...all of a sudden you care???

Where were you the first year???

Liberals say they hated Bush's tax cuts, and want us to go back to the taxation we had under Clinton. Funny how they want this particular Bush tax cut to stay, though.

Yeah, it must be tough to not be able to pass on even more of unfunded liablility to future taxpayers. There is not "tax cut". They say that for idiots.

There's a complete difference in tax cuts for working class families and tax cuts for the uber-wealthy.

So you hate the Bush Tax cuts for the wealthy, but you like the Bush Tax cuts for yourself.

What about Obama telling everyone about "shared sacrifice"? Don't you want to sacrifice a bit for your country?

Well its only 2% so really probably not much in the way of money, and second you do understand you are stealing money from grandma and grandpa by not paying in enough to social security?

Why is it that the democrats use such ridiculous ploys, this is money you are supposed to pay to make sure everyone has social security come retirement time, why do the democrats hate retirees and those who need social security?

Stop being so disingenuous. Obama introduced the $120 billion payroll tax cut in the 2010 provision. You're seriously trying to compare apples and oranges.

And social security is fine, so long the government stops taking money from the SS fund and allocating it towards other expenditures. The SS scare is one of the biggest exaggerations of all time, bearing the money is only used what it's meant for.

This is a load of crap and you know it.

"House Republicans say they want to extend the payroll tax holiday for all of 2012, not just for two months"

    Massive OP fail.

As usual Don, you're cherry picking is on point. The fact of the matter is, come January, the Obama payroll tax cut will not be in effect because *********s opted not to vote.

You can try to spin any way you want, but the *********s just gave a big middle finger to the middle class...again.

Have fun with your PR quote though.

Nice story. All those attributes still leave you with less money in your pocket.

On that theory we really shouldn't have any income tax at all.

    AGREED.

    Flat consumption tax it is.

Realistically that's not possible. A flat tax rate couldn't suffice and cover our expenditures. Not to mention, the disparity between the middle class and top class would grow even larger, which is never good for an economy.
