It appears that the left is obsessed with race and must label the enemies of central control with a label. If it were not racism, it would be something else.

Indeed, and in fact the only fun thing about a Hillary Clinton presidency would be twofold in nature; first, and related to this is that all of a sudden in leftwing world EVERYTHING -- probably including issues that leftwingers would nominally label racial in nature -- would be examples of Right of Center misogyny (which would get surrealistic real fast) and also IF President Hillary Clinton were to turn out to be actually effective as a president then we'd have to listen to WHY she and not Barack Obama STILL should not have become president in 2008.

In other words (as to that second point) our leftwingers would be giving themselves a collective double-think spinal strain trying to defend Obama's pathetic performance as president, exalt Hillary as the Second Coming of their Political Messiah, and insist that still Barack Obama rather than Hillary SHOULD have been president back in 2008. It would be very amusing. The rest would be horror, of course. Still it would probably be grotesquely amusing horror.

I can understand this desire to exit this conversation and the willingness to address the issue in the future important. It is not an issue that can be ignored.

Perhaps there is a 'starting point' from which the honest discussion needs to start that I might suggest based upon personal experience. I grew up in a very conservative Republican house of the 1950's and 1960's (differentiating it from the social conservatism of today) and my parents were "racists" and I was a "racist" but not in the KKK/Stormfront mold. It was racism based upon racial prejudice that I'd refer to as "closet racism" that is subtle and that we were unaware of. We were the "deniers" when it came to admitting that we harbored racial prejudice.

It was only after I left home and was in college where I learned about the validity of scientific studies and then began to read the studies that it really struck home for me that "I was a racist" and needed to do something about it. I stopped living in a world of denial and actually worked to overcome racial prejudice in my own life.

That I believe is the "starting point" that all of us much reach if we're to honestly address racism. We need to start with the basic proposition of "I am a racist" and have a sincere desire to end our own racial prejudices. Instead of denying the emperical evidence we must use it to learn about ourselves and society. That's why I often cite studies on racism and racial prejudice (and even have one study result in my signature) because the studies aren't wrong. We may not like what the study reveals but it's true whether we like it or not. Many look at my signature and believe it's condemnation of Republicans when in fact it's condemnation of us all. The fact that 32% of Democrats expressed explicit anti-black racial prejudice is still far more racial prejudice that what is acceptable. The level of anti-black prejudice is far to high regardless of whether we're looking at Democrats or Republicans.

But starting with "I'm a racist" is the first step if we want to address racism in America. What's the "worst case" if we do that? Could we prove ourselves wrong? Not likely but if that were to happen then nothing was lost because we learned about racism along the way. If that assumption is not wrong then, if we're putting a sincere effort in reducing racial prejudice in our own lives then we will and that's a positive outcome.

There is an underlying fallacy here. Why isn't every American opposed to racism? Why are Democrats addressing the racism and racial prejudice in America but Republicans refuse to? Shouldn't Republicans also be opposed to racism and fighting against the invidious effects that are so well documented?

I'm a card carrying Libertarian and I'm deeply concerned that the Libertarian Party is not doing enough to address racism. The Democrats put us to shame on this issue. That is not to claim that racism doesn't also exist in the Democratic Party. It does but it is far less than in other parties and at least the Democrats are making efforts to address it. We don't find that in most Republicans and Libertarians but we should.

Well, there is a difference between opposing racism and promoting racism. Promoting racism shows in this thread and forum constantly by trying to claim anyone that opposes the democrat inspired race based legislation as a racist. There is an element of the left that absolutely relies on race hustling so they can stay relevant.

Based on how the average leftwinger acted and reacted during the Zimmerman/Wilson/ and Garner cases with total prejudgment, absolute willingness to BELIEVE any and all accusations against the White's involved (also bizarrely altering Zimmerman's actual skin tone in order to hate him along pre-approved PC lines) any leftwinger wanting to confess to being a racist and a race agitator or even a race hustler should probably do so . . . just for the sake of finally admitting to reality. As for rightwingers, since they were almost universally correct in regard to those three cases I have yet to see any signs of uniform racism on their part.

So racism IS a leftwing problem because it seems to have infused their political ideology. They need to work on that.

Maybe we should ask why the Democrat party supports racism and sexism through Affirmative Action? Giving someone extra help, or denying someone else an opportunity just because they have different chromosomes or skin color, assuming they are inferior, is about as bad as it gets. And they're PROUD of it. The openly support giving people with less qualifications a job, because 60 yrs ago, dead people were d1cks.

Yelling racism and sexism at every turn in order to shut down opposition, belittles the word. Its the boy who cried wolf. The double standard is also amusing. Its sexist to criticize Hillary, but its OK to publicly obliterate Conservative women. Truly astounding.

Essentially that's what it now amounts to . . . and has since at least the Clinton presidency years when some bold Right of Center people (usually internet forums posters) finally began pushing back. The main problem on the Left is that all those decades of being able to utterly shut down ANY social, cultural, or political discussion of any type simply by uttering the words, "Racist," or "Racism," has left them rhetorically fat and lazy in regards to debate formats.

I don't think Zeskind should be throwing stones.
I've a copy of his book "The Jewish Century" some where at home.
As I recall it's a pretty supremacist sounding book. :salute:

"A study of the Jewish impress upon the twentieth century based on the three migrations (*) (1) Jews to America, (2) Jews to Palestine, and (3) Jews from the Soviet countryside to the Soviet cities, The Jewish Century excels as a study of the Jewish success story in the Soviet Union of the 1920's and 1930's, when Jews were the ruling class of the pre-WW2 USSR "

That is his tribe was the ruling class in one of the most murderous states in history.

That's what they ALL say. A lot of TPers oppose Obama's policies because he is black.

I remember the posters and banners from some of the earliest TP rallies. The witch doctor poster was hugely popular, as were the "I Want My Country Back" signs. I have never mistaken them for anything but a racist organization.

there are racists in every party. Since the TP is mostly a party of poor conservatives who have bolted from the GOP, one would expect racist views to be present in them. It is what comes with the demographic more than some grand ulterior motive of the organization itself.

One picture shown 100 times, now there are 100 racists, shown 1000 times, now there are 1000 racists.

The funny thing about some of these threads is that they're personal. I love the TEA Party. I know the origins. I support it completely because I know that the basis is the Constitution, personal liberty and fiscal sanity. So it comes off as if y'all are trying to convince me that I'm racist. I usually don't play this game but it's just ridiculous. I am the only white employee at my company though I am the boss. I have people of different races in my family. They come to my house, spend the night. I just don't label people the way liberals do. I label them niece, cousin, office manager, field technician, etc. They're real people to me.

Oh, no. No no no. "The left" is not alone in this. Definitely not alone. Anytime I question Israel's policies I get called an anti-semite. That's not much better.

I love it when a conservative gets so upset he forgets the topic under discussion, and then proves it

We were talking as to whether tea party people are bald face racists

whereupon you make about the most bald face racist post one can possibly make, and then go on to say this racism is why the Tea Party will win the next election

I was just trying to point out the folly of using this racism to get black votes, the context here, that of DENYING you are bald face racists, made me think that getting black votes might be a concern of yours, and the Tea Party

You obviously don't, in fact, you probably would approve of campaign commercials EXACTLY like the post I said before.

So please go ahead. I really don't know why I said anything.

What's funny is that in another thread you have right wingers celebrating the fact that some white French truck drivers physically assaulted some non white immigrants.

The tea party/GOP (same thing at the end of the day) will never shed their racist image because of that.
