Another "If Democrats Only Had A Brain" thread.

The liberal bias MSM, in this example NBC News discovers that steel can be cut. :eyepopping:

That's right, steel can be cut with either using accedling torches or diamond saw blades.
Did anyone ever said that steel couldn't be cut ?

Don't they teach basic shop classes in our public schools today ?

A photo shows that the steel columns were breached with a common industrial tool.

    Common industrial tools ???

A test of a steel prototype for the proposed border wall showed it could be sawed through NBC News Exclusive, steel can be cut !!!

    Question..."easily sawed through" ???

Acceding tanks and torches are heavy to move around and saws with diamond blades usually require a large noisy gas guzzling generator to produce electrical energy to operate the saw.

We need a concrete wall which is reinforced with steel, has a rounded top so hooks and hands can't grab it, has steel rods pounded 50 feet into the ground or until they hit rock as to deter tunnels, and we need vibration sensors so anyone messing with the wall or steel rods can be snatched up and be returned to the liberal paradise known as Mexico where the people are harder working and more desirable than Americans.

A steel wall, like the ones in near me in Santa Teresa, NM, are OK because they have border agents lined up along them.

And people said 25 billion was an overestimate. With those requirements, 25 billion would be chump change.

For the most part we only pay for the wall once, the wall can't be defunded, call in sick, go on strike, go on vacation, retire or receive an expensive pensions and other benefits. What dollar amount would you put on American safety? Keep in mind that we've spent trillions all over the world providing safety to people in foreign countries.

We discussed this last week. Steel slats won't work. If we spend billions of dollars on slats the first immigrant that cuts a hole through the slats is going to make us a worldwide embarrassment. CNN will be there to film it and it will run 24/7. There will be viral youtube videos of different ways to saw through the slats. We will end up spending billions digging up the breached slats and replacing them.

Sorry, but on hardened steel that would break in about 2 minutes, maybe less.

    Actually isn't DARPA wonderful ?

I was reading because of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq DARPA (U.S. military) has made huge leaps and bounds when it comes to battery technology.

The wall absolutely needs to be repaired and maintained. The estimates for trump's concrete wall was 25 billion to build and 25 billion every 7 years to maintain.

Not really, but those blades are replaceable.

But this is why we need details. Just saying "steel" is meaningless for price and durability. Those pictures look like steel tubes filled with cement.

An important point to keep in mind is that the people who are most likely to come into the country between the ports of entry because of the economic value to be gained (sex slave traders, drug dealers, coyotes, etc.) are also perfectly capable of coordinating equipment to meet their travelers at the point of entry.

And I still don't know why we couldn't easily shoot someone with a dangerous weapon like a saw, trying to destroy our property. Because that kind of person would be such an amazing asset to our economy and culture.

So it’ll essentially be the cost of rebuilding the wall every seven years? Beautiful!

You also need about 70 million dollars, which is the estimated cost for the whole thing.

And that won't solve anything. Most drugs come in through border entry points and most illegals come in through airports.

I have an Oxy-Acetylene torch set than can be carried in a backpack and it will burn through a dozen of those posts in no time at all.

Imagine the press on that. Even if you could argue we were justified, the US would be crucified on the world stage.

1st I doubt Trumps wall is hardened steel. 2nd that's what angle grinders do.
How do you think they cut Trump's wall?

Even a heavier set up could just sit in the bed of a truck. Plenty of roads running along the border.

How about a double chain link fence with electric and sensors like Israel has which is cheaper and 99.9% effective as the Prime Minister told Trump. Israel's wall is only 3% of its border security in spite of what Trump said.
Let's do it and get the gov't open and these people paid. They have families to support and it is unamerican to fck them over and hold them hostage for a piece of metal.

It was a picture of a battery powered handsaw. For someone scoffing at whether liberals ever used a hand tool you sure are unaware of the different types of battery powered handsaws out there. Not to mention simple hand tools.
