Well, here we are. Smack dab in the middle of testing season again. Most of my fellow teachers dislike this period where so much instruction time is lost to a number of different standardized test, most of which are required by the state. An academic year has a "flow" that is really interrupted during this time. Standardized testing is important, of course, but sometimes it can be a bit much.
I don't know about your state's testing requirements, but we need standardized testing. It's the only way to compare across various school districts who's doing well and who isn't.
