No but if you had a co-ordinated federal response you would fly in staff from other states to man a hospital purpose built

YUP, it would be called "planning"..

But we had a President who was busy calling it a hoax...

I didn't. Sometimes they do. But not all pregnancy presents a "health care issue." It's largely a western and relatively recent development to send women to a hospital to have a baby. China and India overpopulated themselves without hospitalization. You're probably too young to remember the occasional baby delivered alive and well by taxi cab drivers in the last century. It was not uncommon. Heart by passes and appendectomies are different.

Possibly. But that's not Texas' fault.

You're going to give yourself an aneurysm with all that shouting. But the answer is to make sure the pregnancy is normal, which in 99% of the cases it is. Similarly, not every pimple is skin cancer. Not every heartache is clinical depression. Which is why abortion is usually....

    Anyone?

    Wrong again.

    What's False
Despite creating some confusion with his remarks, Trump did not call the coronavirus itself a hoax.

    Also

Trump did use the word “hoax” but his full comments, and subsequent explanation, make clear he was talking about Democratic attacks on his administration’s handling of the outbreak, not the virus itself.

The first is from Snopes, the second from Factcheck.org

    https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/trump-coronavirus-rally-remark/

It would be so nice if I didn't have to spend times correcting your errors like this. I hope they aren't lies, and are instead just innocent mistakes.

True. But when we send the 10 year old to the doctor for a checkup (usually a waste of time), he walks out again. An aborted baby ends up dead and in an incinerator. See the difference?

    No?

    Wow.

From your link: ""During a Feb. 28, 2020, campaign rally in South Carolina, President Donald Trump likened the Democrats' criticism of his administration's response to the new coronavirus outbreak to their efforts to impeach him, saying "this is their new hoax." During the speech he also seemed to downplay the severity of the outbreak, comparing it to the common flu.""

:) An equally stupid , ignorant remark..

Typing doesn't cause aneurysms . But it does help point out where someone repeatedly avoided an issue.

Going to the doctor is HEALTH CARE...pregnant women go several times during their pregnancy, that is called health care.

"I'm afraid that at some point in time I'm going to have to make some very serious decisions," he told Reuters in an interview. "I'm starting to get the idea that I cannot save everybody."

And do you understand that a virus that is transmitted by proximity is much more likely to have an effect in cities with high rise apartments than 50 sq miles of suburban sprawl
We don't have thousands of nursing homes we have hundreds with hundreds of patients.
If you don't think the nation learned much about limiting the spread since March/april I don't know what to say. By the time the outbreak reached the rest of the country we knew much more on how to contain it.

Yes. In fact I recall seeing footage of the subways and bus system and knowing that was going to be a nightmare.

Which is all the more reason not to pack the most susceptible into nursing homes like Cuomo/Di Blasio did.

    Deaths per 100,000

For your info, your Texas 15 is up to 22.4

Can you give me a lowest/highest estimate?

    If not, I can.

Seems like new cases have plateaued. Remember, deaths are a lagging indicator.

    It seems......I agree

    Once again, deaths per 100,000

Give me a low/high estimate, assuming no more new cases.

    Your 15
    Currently at 22.4

    They aren't "my" numbers.

They are the numbers provided by the CDC.

And still far below New York state, and certainly NYC.

But you do have a calculator in your head.

I’ll make it easy for you....

    Texas deaths per 100,000

    Low estimate 35

    High estimate 45

    Agree or disagree?

Wish Trump had said the same thing....”I’m not going to speculate”

In other words, you’re much wiser than he is.

The "experts" predicted 2 million plus deaths in the US.

Trump is handling this quite well.

And just a reminder-state and local are the primaries in such episodes.

“Had we done nothing”, The experts predicted 2.2 million deaths.

    Thus, Bravo!

    However, back in April, Trump also claimed he was handling it quite well. With a glorifying smile, he compared the U.S and the MOST AFFECTED European Nations, and here’s the chart; DEATHS PER 100,000, dated April 16th;

    Belgium........45.20
    Spain............42.81
    Italy...............36.64
    France..........27.46
    UK.................23.48
    Netherland....19.38
    U.S................11.24.........WOW! WOW! WOW!

Well, does your brain know how many of above listed countries we’ve surpassed since then, and which ones?

    Huuuuummmm, I don’t think your brain knows, thus, I tell ya;

Netherland and France, and soon, Italy.

    DEATHS PER 100,000......July 30th

    U.S..................46.9
    France.............46.3....we’ve surpassed them today!
    Netherland.......35.9

    What a shame!

And are you in any way surprised such a thing happened under GOP state and national administrations?
