Texas allowed guns on campus once before. Fella ended up on the tower of the Austin campus and blew away scads of people from long range. Most remarkable display of marksmanship I ever did see. Should be a monument to the guy.

    Damn right!

Let's pick a random example of a former mature, upstanding Texas college student, Johnny Manziel. What could possibly go wrong when you mix someone like him, a school campus, and guns?

Stupid to think that guns solve that many problems, in my opinion.

Why of course we should mix underage binge drinking, epicenters for date drugs and rape, and easily concealable 9mm handguns. What could be better for privileged Texans on a Friday night? I'm going to see if I can get a handcuff kiosk in one of the bookstores.

Yeah, poor guy. I shouldn't have made an example of him. I'm sure not all Texans have undiagnosed brain tumors although I'm thinking the percentage has to be pretty darn high.

So if someone wants to take a gun on campus and shoot people, how do you stop him?

Why, you just let him do it, of course. It's a 2nd Amendment country and I'd surely hate to impinge on somebody's right to kill anybody they feel like killing. That'd almost be a freedom of expression thing.

Funny how in all of your posts in this topic, you do not once present a sound argument against this law.
Lots of hyperbole and nonsensical claims of the sky falling, but no sound reasoning.
    I wonder why that is.

    Duh.
Put up a big sign that says "no guns".

Not all the universities are "opting in" to allow students to carry concealed weapons on campus. For example, this ABC news article says "More than 20 private schools have said they won't lift their gun bans when the law takes effect this August, including the state's largest private universities that have religious affiliations and often align with the type of conservative values espoused by the politicians behind the law." I know the University of Texas stated they would allow guns on campus to classrooms, but not in dorms. But they seem to be the odd one out. University of North Texas and most of the University of Texas system universities have decided not to allow guns on campus, generally.

I think anybody with a grasp of the language got my drift but, since you didn't, you start by not allowing them on campus. And you certainly do not pass laws allowing them on campus. And, if you have a campus with 40,000 or so students like UT has, and you want to make sure no more Charles Whitmans get up in the tower, you make sure all students pass through metal detectors. It's easy enough to do at airports with a lot fewer people trying to pass through the gates.

Nothing here even remotely resembles a sound argument against the law.

Do you know how big the UT campus is? ROFL, what gates? City streets go through the campus. An interstate highway goes through the campus.

Yeah, okay, I'll take YOUR word for what constitutes a sound argument. hehe

You want dead students or what? Figure it out.

I'm not the one that has a problem with campus carry.

You could start by presenting an argument against the law not based in hyperbole, emotion, ignorance and/or dishonesty.
Give it a try, if you think you can.
