Not only does Iowa get the unearned "right" to serve the outsized role of kingmaker, basically giving every Iowan the opportunity to talk in person to every candidate multiple times, while other states never get to see any candidate's rear end. Now they mess it up for Democrats by giving Trump the gloating opportunity, painting all Democrats as incompetent. Boy, is he making use of this opportunity, and the cult laps it up and amplifies it.

This is terrible. I'd say, there needs to be new way to run primaries. What is the point to reward the same states every four years, while other states' residents can eat dust? In my state, we NEVER see ANY politician campaign. How is that fair? The primary sequence should be randomized. Also, get rid of the whole DNC.

You mean let the Dem Party candidate selection process become fair and honest like with the GOP? Now where's the fun in that?

I bet the Iowa DNC is desperately calling Hillary to find that bleach bit stuff to cleanse their election results to conform to what the national party wanted as the outcome.... When you have to suggest that there were "inconsistencies" in the data, isn't that a self admission of guilt for election tampering?

Let’s not forget that in 2012, Mitt Romney was declared the winner in Iowa - but weeks later, after a recount, Rick Santorum was declared the winner of the GOP caucus.
    Both parties suck.

Right. The democratic candidates should have their incompetence hidden from the voters, kind of like a handicap in golf, so the election can be on a level field.
Candidates Larry, Curly and Moe shouldn't suffer from character assassination in advance. That is, IF they are democrats.

It's not the candidates who are incompetent in this instance, it's the Iowa Democratic Party. But, thanks for playing straight into Trump's meme. Nothing else would be expected.

Incompetent programmers. Very similar to Obama's failed Obamacare rollout they couldn't get fixed.

And I have no doubt that it was mishandled- by who? Democrats. Did any of the candidates recognize this dysfunctional situation within their own organization and take actions to avoid being caught up in the confusion? To separate themselves and stand out? No.

I realize they had no idea how to do that and you probably agree- however, a smart player in any game has a plan B. Democratic strategy always seems to rely on placing blame somewhere else. I don't think they know how to step up to the plate and do otherwise. This wasn't always so; democrats used to be far wiser at politics than they are today.

YOU may think the candidates are not incompetent....... which does not mean they are competent. As they are all somewhat on the same level, people think they are making a choice- even though none of the choices have the ability to do the job. They are all equally unqualified. They are just picking which loses today, and who will lose later.

The right vote would be "None of the above".

It was outsourced to a private company, I heard. In any case, we should not have apps transmitting election results. In primaries and national elections, EVERYTHING should be counted by hand with a paper trail.

Media wants instant results. They were throwing tantrums last night less than an hour after the caucus's closed last night. By midnight EST they were steaming because it really messed up their ratings. I don't think we can go to paper but there has to be a better way especially with so much early and absentee voting.

Why should we care what the media want? The most important factor of any election is accuracy, not rapid release of results. We used to have no problems when members of both parties worked together in polling stations until all ballots were counted. The whole involvement of electronics in elections is a solution in search of a problem.

Do you really think that candidates should be involved in the vote counting process? REALLY?

It is unfortunate but the reality is that MSM impacts every move a candidate makes. Accurate results absolutely do matter. I would be fine going back to paper but early voting complicates polling unless it's electronic. The candidates all rely on computer analytics they can't get fed fast enough to them via paper results. The election cycle starting now is counted in hours, not days for some of the candidates.

Schiff already explained during the impeachment hearings that the American voter can't be trusted to pick the right person.

You didn't just think he was talking about Republicans, did you?

Strike "Iowa" and this would be a more factual sentence.

Which of the Democrat candidates disagreed with the process that the Iowa DNC was going to use? I don't know the answer, I have not followed this issue at all.
