I disagree with their issued list of talking points to bring up at the Thanksgiving table.

Because that's just what every family needs is a list of political talking points from the White House to argue over the Thanksgiving table with....

Even the most politically opinionated family members realize that that's not the place to argue politics but evidently the White House did not get the message

Not all Republicans are neo-cons. But it's clear that progressives have a very negative outlook on the life of traditionalists of all kind, be they Christians or otherwise. I happen to think Thanksgiving is a universal holiday, where it's not about the food but about the kindness people share.

 

You have a mighty broad definition of "progressives".

 

Like the same isn't true the other way around? I don't think things are nearly as bad as politicians made them out to be(for votes) but we clearly do have a cultural rift that is being politically exploited on all sides.

It's already a mostly universal thing, since the Christians exported it all over, including the US. What hits a nerve is that in the oh so well known school plays drag in the pilgrim fathers being so called so kind to the native Americans. With this, there is this weird suggestion being made that this is how Christians were while we know that the genocide on the natives done by those Christians was rather well organized.
