Absolutely! Based on the supreme court ruling, all current "assault" weapon bans are unconstitutional. So would a ban on semi automatic handguns, and other semi auto rifles etc.

The filibuster is problematic, but if the Dems nuke it, they have less than two years to get everything done. The risk of losing the Senate next year is high. I'm not sure taking that risk is wise.

Both parties defend the constitution up to the point of it being inconvenient. Your statement is true, but if you are a Democrat, you are not pointing with clean hands.

So the 100lb female not wanting to be raped or murdered has a fetish? Please tell me the likelihood of a CCW holder committing an act of violence:

No, The senate was complicit in Trump's betrayal of America, and his crimes, abuses of power, etc. Every point is correct.
Those who follow Trump are under his spell ( that is the one thing he is good at ) and are in total denial.

You are wrong on every level.

The law is closing on Trump, as we speak.

Yes, and several hundred people died, many of whom were children, because of accidents with guns in the home.

Life has a risk,. But letting everyone carry concealed weapons is NOT the answer.

There is a reason in many of the small towns in the west of the mid to late 18th century, the local sheriff had a 'no guns' rule, and no one in the town bitched about the second amendment, it was the will of the citizens of the town, as it it now, the will of the people.

2a gives you the right to own a gun in your home, use for hunting, target practice, with carrying that gun being regulated. If you own two guns, your right has been satisfied. Anything beyond that, it's for states to regulate, some being more in accord with your desire, some not. Move to a state that is more to your liking, then.

That is the 21st century, not the 18th or 19th century, and you seriously need to get over it.

I'm not the guy who is sympathetic to your 'destroy the second amendment'. I think 2A should be repealed altogether as a right, and left to states to grant and regulate as a 'privilege', but that, of course, is not possible, today, as long as there are gun nuts about. If anything should be a right, it's health care, NOT guns.

You are entitled to have your opinion. Would you also disarm law enforcement?

And yet you couldn't refute a single point beyond saying what amounted to "nuh uh!! your wrong!"

I'll be waiting for any criminal court proceeding arising from anything that he did while in office and a conviction. Until then you have nothing but talking points. I won't hold my breath.

In the mid to late 18th century the BoR's was not incorporated into the 14th amendment. It only applied to the Federal Government.

One can be exercised without anyone else being forced to serve you. The other would demand that others serve you. Rights are individual. They apply to the individual and to only the individual. The individual's Rights do not supersede another individuals rights. By deeming healthcare a Right you are putting other peoples Rights above others. Why? Because no one has a Right to another's work or body or time.

That couldn't possibly be true, or the state wouldn't have the right to enact conscription, which is necessary in times of war where there is a shortage of personnel, and the constitution writes that the state has a legitimate claim on a portion of your income, the funds of which are used for things society deems makes it more civilized, which, among other things, includes health care. I'm sure I could think of other examples, if I put my mind to it.

I will agree that the state does not have the right to force anyone to any medical procedure because one's body, on matters inside one's body, is sovereign to the individual. His or her labor is not, given that the state has a legitimate claim on a portion of incomes.

It is kind of ironic that this post would be made at the same time that congress is passing one of the most anti-constitutional laws ever created in order to keep power, HR1

Of course the OP is based on several false and bogus premises. Trump had and has every right to reject the democrats abusing power in an effort to destroy political opposition. They got away with it with Trump and now they are trying to eliminate all conservatives. WE WONT LET THEM GET AWAY WITH THEIR CORRUPT ABUSE OF POWER ANY LONGER.

I will never again vote any democrat in office in any position. If you are a Democrat, it's time to wake up and separate yourself from this party like Tulsi did. Its time to bring back America.

I'm not the government. You're not the government. Joe Blow down the street is not the government. Suzie down the other street is not the government. And the government abolished slavery a long time ago.

If abuse of power really bothers you, you would having nothing but contempt for Donald Trump, but, since you don't, your credibility is zero.

Shaking down a foreign leader to help one's campaign is an abuse of power.
Instructing your entire staff to defy all congressional subpoenas, a duty SCOTUS has deemed constitutional per their duty to provide oversight, is an abuse of power. Issuing congressional subpoenas is not the abuse of power, the abuse of power is to unlawfully not comply with them in en masse without predication, in order to bog down every move by congress to exercise it's duty to provide oversight, in order to further the right wing agenda.

You wouldn't know abuse of power if it bit you on the gluteus maximus.
Your concern is rich when republicans have been working day and night since SCOTUS gutted the voting rights act to eliminate all democrats from winning elections. You didn't whine about gerrymandering, voter purging methods that disproportionately kicked democrats from the voter registrations rolls, voter caging, limiting polling locations in poor neighborhoods, slowing down the mail, etc. Right? Of course I'm right. In fact, you are probably not even aware of what republicans have been doing. I suggest you watch a documentary that, with evidence provided, details the many things republicans have been doing to make sure democrats do not win elections. The documentary is called "rigged" (free for Amazon prime members), but you won't even watch because you are no doubt going to shout 'why should I watch a liberal documentary?' Right? See what I mean? No wonder dems want to get rid of conservatives, they are evil. Evil should be gotten rid of.

Stop being evil, then maybe we can work things out.

It's time for you to wake the **** up.

So, I'm in a theater, and everyone has a CCW, and a bad guy starts shooting, then everyone starts shooting, and the cops arrive

I'd sure hate to be that cop.

Do you see the problem? If you don't, I cannot help you.

You see the thing parochially, from a narrow lens, but as a general public policy, CCW for everyone is NOT the answer.

At least you aren't denying what is going on anymore.

I clearly indicated that I voted for democrats in the past. I not pro-republican or even pro-trump. I am pro-American. The worst part of HR1 is that it throws Americans under the bus. I am aware of both Dems and Republicans stretching things to benefit their side. Never before has any party taken it this far until now and they have taken it to a federal level.
They are so focused on setting the republicans as their enemy, they are opening our elections up to all sorts of mischief on a international level.

Please tell me the likelihood of said 100 lb. female actually defending herself.

Are you actually safer owning a gun or is that only your perception?

Objectives. We investigated the possible relationship between being shot in an assault and possession of a gun at the time.

Methods. We enrolled 677 case participants that had been shot in an assault and 684 population-based control participants within Philadelphia, PA, from 2003 to 2006. We adjusted odds ratios for confounding variables.

Results. After adjustment, individuals in possession of a gun were 4.46 (P < .05) times more likely to be shot in an assault than those not in possession. Among gun assaults where the victim had at least some chance to resist, this adjusted odds ratio increased to 5.45 (P < .05).

So, with your logic, being forced to stop at a red light makes us all slaves.

    Give me a break.

Hey.....I got news for you, in case you didn't get the memo....

Paying taxes are not slavery. Your 'freedom' is not unlimited, and less than unlimited freedom doesn't equal slavery.

    What bizarre logic.

You thought paying taxes makes you a slave, which is bizarre logic.

Why should I take you seriously enough to devote a half hour on a lengthy reply to you?

Why don't you explain your beef or beefs with HR1.

"under the bus' is not argument.

I can't respond to 'under the bus' other than to say I don't agree.

    Get specific. Thanks.

Whatever the answer is, it's irrelevant and meaningless because cops have to have guns, which means we can't use stats to take them away from cops, so the answer to your question has no bearing on the following premise:

'"CCW for everyone is NOT the answer", but my example clearly reveals why it is a bad idea.
