all they have to say is....Thank You.....whilst the EU farts around conjuring up ever more imaginative ways of avoiding the EU economic sanctions imposed on Russia by the EU so it can buy their oil and gas the UK will continue to protect you....

Keep feeding the Russian war machine but just remember who your friends actually are.

    @ Anglo-Sphere?

Should this idiotic hate speech against the EU go on and on?

    While "Anglos" are praised sky-high?

    It is revolting.

The EU is something of an irrelevance these days.

They are all about trying to make Catholic churches hold gay weddings I think.
    Who listens when they speak?

It was told to me that support for Ukraine increases the further away one gets from the place because people familiar with Ukraine tend to not be fans. I dunno if thats true or not, but this thread seems to somewhat support that suggestion.

Ukraine's immediate and near neighbors (Poland, Slovakia, the Baltics) are some of Ukraine's staunchest supporters.

The Anglosphere is a thing, and has been. It is certainly not about EU hate speech.

    Hilarious.
The EU has been wanting a combined military force for years. It has been the UK which has blocked it consistently, saying it wasn't necessary. EVEN after the
    annexation of Crimea.
Be careful who you believe in this conflict. Much of the UK "aid" is recounted by UK propagandist news.
As for the USA, they can afford it.

Apart from the obvious issues of such a force....and bearing in mind the almost total lack of support from Europe in terms military aid to Ukraine up to now....how would a European Army have responded to an such an exterior threat do you think?

Germany continues to bankroll Putin's adventure into Ukraine....and...well in terms of Germany and gas.....Not and never was going to be happy combination.

France sent Macron to tell Zelensky to..well....basically give up and give in to Putin so that Europe can get back to sucking up to Putin...and so that Renault can start up again in Russia.....

Not exactly the best way to project security for those Eastern European countries threatened by an expansionist Russia......

can you expand on that comment as it's rather vague

fine...well let's have your analysis then...?

My high level overview is that without a common, coherent and consistent European foreign policy the application of a "European Army" would be left without any purpose other than yet another disaster relief team going out and helping NGOs in aiding people who've been hit by earthquakes or hurricane or droughts. Where and when has there been a unified voice or unified desire for action against Russia and Putin in the last 3 months? An EU defence force would’ve just stayed on the side lines and watched it happen. France and Germany haven’t exactly shown themselves to be leading the way on this have they? Some kit's been forthcoming from Germany but not a lot of political noise making...and France....please....tell me what the French response has been so far?? Bearing in mind it was the French that were so adamant that a "European Army" was such a great idea in order to further the defence of Europe their actions so far have basically been to tell Zelensky to give up and let Russia have what its taken.

The EU love to keep telling us how they have maintained peace in Europe. France, a relative late comer to NATO said that NATO is brain dead, yet we've found that NATO has very quickly led the way on this attack of a European non-NATO country. If the EU is such a pro-active defence force then why have Sweden and Finland decided that their best defence lies within the auspices of NATO membership and not calling for urgent talks about the formation of a European Army? The UK has been out of the EU now for over a year and there has been no mention of it...not even now!

All that will happen, is the EU will still be taking about what they should do...what the could do...what they would've done long after this has all ended. Once it’s ended and the gas is back on they’ll tell everybody what a pivotal role that had in sorting it out. German and French Companies will try and force their way into any EU re-construction projects and they’ll be back with the calls for a European Army (led by the French but funded by the Germans) and further European integration....all in the name of standing up to totalitarian regimes with no real Democratic accountability, whilst pushing for less democracy within the EU (as that's what secretariats like). Now you can call that "hate" talk as you like but its not really..... it's just a rather jaundiced view of an organisation which is a fair weather friend happy re-distributing Germany's hard earned money to prop up France's chronically inefficient state industries....

Boris Johnson does not care about Ukraine, let alone the international rule of law seeing as how he is about to renege on his own solemn treaty with the EU.
Boris Johnson wants to use the awful Ukraine conflict to distract from the fact he is a lying hypocrite in trouble for breaking his own domestic law and lying to Parliament about it.
The UK used to have standards of propriety, but since the vote to leave the EU exposed the deep lying racist element in UK society Boris Johnson has ridden that evil and exploited it.
Boris Johnson is no way any kind of lovable rogue, he is a Prince of Darkness.

Your representation of the truth is somewhat skewed.
Macron spoke with Putin, not Zelensky.
The rest is your imagination and the UK can't even give homeless people a roof.
How do you think an army dissuades another army from entering its territory?
and European companies are pulling out of Russia.

This whole thread is about nothing.
    The title makes no sense.
and in addition stop diverting into a single mention. Like I could say this thread isn't about France or democratic accountability.

The "saving of Ukraine" is not an EU issue. The EU is not interfering...individual nation state are...because the EU has no military capacity to interfere.
Each country does as it sees fit.

The "Anglosphere" is not saving Ukraine. In fact it finds it very hard to save individuals who are made refugees , let alone an entire country.

I don't think I have seen such blatant misinformation since Putin's last speech.
