Anyone interested in the horrific abuse of animals in the world, the animal holocaust, this video is worth a watch.

    I wept.

I feel a crushing sense of guilt for "hunting" varmints... which was just shooting rodents with a .22lr. rifle. No justification. Just did it. Now I use paper

Having watched films like this is why I am a vegetarian, have been for four months thus far. And no plans on consuming meat in the future.

If you watch this and are unmoved I believe you are a heartless human being.

If you are unable to watch it, I suggest rethinking they way you live.

    Earthlings - Full length documentary.

Watched the bulk of it, but I guess I'm heartless. Granted, some of the treatment is barbaric, and shouldn't be done. I simply do not participate in the behaviors in the show. Animals serve their purpose as does man.

But it is a very well put together piece of propaganda. Nice music cues and all.

I fail to see how it is propaganda.

The whole thing is cherry picked. I used to work in a slaughter house with cows - nothing like this. We had the "kill floor". And then the bleed deck, then they were pieced apart accordingly. Cows didn't suffer at all, a bolt gun basically obliterated their brain in a quarter second, if they felt anything it was extremely brief.

Basically if they did an expose showing the practices of humane and inhumane slaughterhouses I am sure it would be compelling.

But ultimately I still remain unmoved because we as americans and other nations as well practice abortion on a mass scale.

Why should I get all gushy over animals when my own kind is busy eradicating themselves? When that problem gets fixed, when child abuse, human trafficking comes to an end, and the human woes are put down. I'll worry more about fluffy snow bunnies.

Until then, I'll enjoy my leather wallet as I open it to buy a chicken sandwich with bacon.

    People first.

If you wept and felt guilty---it was propaganda. Propaganda drives change through emotion.

    Um. No.

I killed small animals for fun, not reason behind it.

I fail to see how it was propaganda.

You missed the point of the documentary.

The animal is unnecessary, humanity can survive without inflicting pain and suffering.

Propaganda according to Merriam Webster is " the spreading of ideas, information, or rumor for the purpose of helping or injuring an institution, a cause, or a person "

I think that video was propaganda.

I've never killed just for fun. Any time I've killed has been for nourishment, pest control (i.e. insects and mice), or science. I don't feel at all guilty for anything that I've killed.

I understood the video quite clearly. I simply refuse to let a piece of clever propaganda govern or influence me when it is obviously cherry picked. Animals serve their purpose like any other natural resource. They are meant to be harvested and regulated. Were it not for hunters, wolves would be an ever greater nuisance out here in the northwest. Elk and deer are a menace half the time as well. Farmers hate them, hunters help out farmers.
If you thinking hunting is cruel, nature's method of hunting is much crueler. Watch a PBS wolf kill, then tell me a .357 rifle shot is cruel to an elk. They should be so lucky as to die by hunting considering the natural options at their disposal.

Nothing wrong with using the bounty that nature provides. Now torturing animals so you can get your rocks off I don't think is cool in any degree. But killing plague bearing varmints like mice, racoons, and problem animals like wolves? Cue the world's tiniest violin. Because I'd kill them on sight because they are obnoxious and dangerous. Endangered or not, I'd say kill them all.
