    Todays thought...support movember...

Your risk of developing prostate cancer increases with age, but that doesn’t mean it’s a disease that only affects old men. Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men worldwide. Men who are of African or Caribbean descent, and men who have a family history (a brother or father with prostate cancer), are 2.5x more likely to get prostate cancer.

If you’re 50, you should be talking to your doctor about PSA testing. If you’re of African or Caribbean descent, you need to start that conversation at 45. And if you have a brother or father with prostate cancer in their history, do it at 45.

Well, what a great day its been here on the Gold Coast..
Great to be back from my 3 months tour of the US.
A balmy 25 degrees and the Kirra surf has been beautiful.
Across the water you can see the Surfers Paradise skyline in the distance, and everyone is enjoying the surf together......boogie board riders and real boards all together.....
I suppose Im lucky living only 5 minutes walk from KIrra which brings me to the point of this post.
If you are a walker/jogger try to keep your head up whilst walking/jogging as this improves your breathing and lung capacity..old Army trick for grunts....

Just look at the crowd....I could watch and listen to these guys all nite...

    2nd thought for the day:
If you feel like ringing your bank to complain about a fee (like I just did)
they will now bend over backwards to reverse that fee for you....
Of course it wouldnt have anything to do with the banking commission that we
had recently, that Turnbull didnt want.....the bastards.....
They will screw you until youre bleeding to death...and only when they
are held accountable for their incompetence, will they stop the bleeding....the
bastards........and then when an Australian bank collapses, watch APRA
step in with a bail in and take our money....the bastards.....

What is the definition of a talking head....
A female news reader, where the mouth opens and closes whilst reading from the auto cues, whilst blank eyes stare into the camera like a deer staring into headlights...
Pretty much reminds me of a dumb, lifeless puppet...

    https://www.fatherly.com/health-science/prostate-cancer-research-funding-breast-cancer/

Prostate cancer is the third leading cause of cancer death in the United States, and nearly 10,000 men in the United States are diagnosed with testicular cancer each year. But you wouldn’t know it, from the cancer research funding. The National Cancer Institute spends twice as much funding research on breast cancer than it does on prostate cancer; the National Institutes of health spends almost three times more ($700 million, to prostate cancer’s $250 million). Why, given that more people may die of prostate cancer than breast cancer, is this the case?

No....I dont believe it......more money being spent on breast cancer....no, that wouldnt happen, would it....

“It’s counterintuitive,” Dr. Jim C. Hu, a urologist at Weill Cornell Medicine and New York Presbyterian Hospital, told Fatherly. “But when you look at the playing field for cancer research, for whatever reason, men get less funding than women. It’s fairly common—1 in 7 men get prostate cancer—and now that men are living longer, they are going to be at greater risk.”

It’s not just a prostate cancer problem, nor is it an issue confined to research funding. Men’s health is poorly addressed in the United States. Several offices in the federal system promote women’s health, but not a single office exists exclusively to highlight men’s unique health needs. This is an interesting dynamic given that specific women’s offices exist in a number of governmental departments because there is a well-founded assumption that historical precedent will lead to the prioritization of men’s issues. But this isn’t exactly the case in the health sphere. Women’s clinics are pervasive at the state and local level, and women’s hospitals are cropping up across the country. No comparable movement exists for men’s health. The result? Women live an average of seven years longer than men. And, no, biology and genetics do not account for this disparity. Men die young, in large part because their health needs are seldom met.
And people wonder why I get pissed off......

Todays date is Ronnie Van Zants birthday...15.1.48....
Ronnie was front man for the American southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd
He was born in Jacksonville, Florida, and was killed in a plane crash on 20.10.77 RIP Ronnie (and others
killed in the crash) To-day the band lives on, although I feel it should have been re-named LS II or something....just my opinion...
Front man is now Johnny Van Zant, Ronnies brother, who apparently, was going to be given the band by Ronnie before he was killed....
Ronnie always said he would never see 30.....he was right......

Otis, plane crash Dec. 10, 1967. Otis Redding was a musical father to Eddie Hinton, July 28, 1995, most likely the long term effect of drugs.

Raven Records, Victoria, Australia, published A Mighty Field of Vision, Anthology 1969-1993 of Hinton. My fav cut: Shout Bamalama. He tops Otis on this one.

Hang Gliding. Was my favorite in my twenties. Great memories flying throughout the year including Winter when the air is thicker. My longest flight was over 2 hours.

Great to see the Socceroos playing a different brand of football.....attacking...
Heaps of blind side running, thru balls, pullback goals...much more aggression....
You cant win games defending for 90% of the match, and then attacking for the other 10%...
