I don't give a rat's ass what "the law" says about abortion, nobody tells me what to think..

 

Then expect other posters to respond...and correct your "misconceptions".... and you are free to "think" anything you like as long as you don't try to force your opinion on others...

Who gave you that right to speak on behalf of someone else's fetus? Are you pregnant with that fetus? Will you be undergoing the agony of the birth? Will you be raising the child for the next 18+ years? Will you be feeding and clothing it and providing it with an education?

 

Like I said, the Bible gives no clear-cut indication of whether abortion is right or wrong, regardless of what interpretations people put on a few verses.
It's almost as if only God knows the answer, but he gives us free will to decide for ourselves whether abortion is right or wrong, and he hopes we make the right choice, consider it a test..

 

What "foetuses A good half of what is currently being aborted actually are embryos. Actually depending on your definition a vast majority are embryos but that does not have the same emotional appeal does it?

 

It God is the decider then why is He/She the most prolific provider of abortions??


Pro-lifers talk about the "carnage" when discussing induced abortion, arguing that millions of "babies" are slaughtered every year.

What the pro-lifers ignore is the horrendous rate of natural, or spontaneous abortions that occur between conception and birth.

We know that miscarriages or natural abortions occur at a rate of about 30 percent, when an embryo is visible or detectable.

But what about losses before that, between fertilization of the egg and a detectable embryo, and how can we tell?

We know that when the cell cluster (or blastocyst) hits the surface of the uterus, a number of detectable hormonal changes occur within a woman's body.

By counting the number of actual pregnancies that follow implantations, we can get an idea of the actual loss of fertilized eggs and embryos.

Based on research done on thousands of women, the embryo loss is about 70 percent, and that does not count the loss between fertilization and implantation, which runs at least 50 percent according to in vitro studies on humans.

If we extrapolate the miscarriage results backward, we can estimate that 90 percent of all fertilized eggs never make it to term.

Utter nonsense! Your bible stipulates that your deity demanded that his chosen people carry out late term abortions on healthy fetuses. Were they supposed to "disobey" him and end up being drowned, or worse, themselves?

 

And do you know the reason for late term abortions? Foetal abnormality

 

So what if they're a fetus or embryo, they still both represent the beginning of a human life and it's a shame to destroy them.
Same with other life that's needlessly destroyed such as this halfwitted town council who went on a seagull egg smashing spree-

 

It's simply a matter of how people interpret certain Bible passages.
For example Jesus said "buy swords because there's trouble ahead", he never meant it literally but some cults do take it literally and arm themselves to the teeth with assault rifles and grenade launchers..

 

So you are now admitting that your religion can be whatever you want it to be because the bible is a "Chinese Menu" and you get to pick and choose what you like and what you don't.

Explain again how that "Chinese Menu" of beliefs gives anyone the authority to dictate to others that they must not have an abortion when other parts of the "Chinese Menu" condone abortions?

 

Like I've said before, God gives us "free will" to interpret the Bible however we please; only HE knows the correct interpretation, so he's sitting back watching how we do. All we can do is play things our way and hope he approves, call it a test..-

The fact that it is inside of and attached to her body, and will cause her great pain and discomfort at the least, and permanent damage or death at the worst.

 

What's wrong with what the town did? It's either destroy the eggs or cull the adults.

 

Even if the Bible never existed, I'd still be against aborting healthy fetuses/embryos..

 

What's wrong with letting them live?

 

There are too many of them, they are most likely causing problems and perhaps even being a public health hazard ie. droppings.

 

I made an omelet today...I had a WONDERFUL time smashing eggs for it !!! Have you never eaten eggs? Or fish? Or meat? Know how meat gets to your plate

Ah, but the seagull eggs were not smashed to eat, they were smashed simply because some old biddies thought seagull poo made a mess and that therefore it was "inconvenient" to let them hatch.
A bit like women who have abortions for no good reason on the grounds that a baby in their life would be "inconvenient"..

There is no other reason to have an abortion......an unwanted pregnancy IS inconvenient.......
