    Just a little hypothetical here.
Suppose the woman wanted it to suffer, for some reason, maybe she had sadistic tendencies.
Would it be her right ?

Do you believe the woman should have the right to deny fetal anesthetic during a late-term abortion? Even if doctors offered to provide it free of charge, maybe she just didn't want to be bothered.

We agree on the principle that it is the individual that matters and who should be enabled to make that decision. The studies are of past performance and no guarantee of future outcomes. We the People have the ability to make a different future happen if we are willing to sacrifice short term greed for a better long term future for our children and grandchildren. With that said I am not optimistic that the change that is needed will happen.

So instead we should focus on the individual who has to make the difficult decision for herself and, in many instances, the other members of her family. We already know that we are not going to provide her with the support that she will need to ensure that she can raise a happy child with everything it needs to become a successful adult. She must consider the impact to herself and her other children by spreading her resources beyond her means to provide adequately for all of them.

Given the reality we have today the individual concerned is the one who must be empowered to make the decision that is best for herself and her family.

You raised the valid point of the ethical and moral slope and from a societal POV it makes sense to NOT dictate to her what her decision MUST be but rather allow her to make that individual decision that best meets with her own personal ethics and morals without any societal dictates and/or coercion. There are ethical and moral arguments to be made on both sides of this issue. In my opinion it is just as unethical and immoral to force a woman to bear a child as it would be to force her to have an abortion. Both are slippery slopes and lead to bad outcomes.

So the only sane and reasonable option which is to leave the decision in the hands of the individual most personally impacted and support whatever decision she makes. To do otherwise would be to deny her the opportunity to reach her own potential optimum future for no better reason than to satisfy our own personal ethical and moral beliefs.

As far as the Law of the Land is concerned a C-section is just an alternative medical procedure. The end result is identical from a legal perspective.

Theist "testimonials" do not refute factual data. If you cannot tell the difference that is not my problem. Your anecdotes were dismissed because they were irrelevant.

C-sections predate Christianity so your point is moot.

Late term abortions always include anesthesia which means that the fetus cannot feel anything either.

How do you feel pain under anesthesia?

The anesthetic is given to the woman, not the fetus.

The anesthetic reaches the fetus via the placenta.

Your scenario makes no sense probably because you have not bothered to inform yourself of the subject matter.

You spoke of" natural child birth". Apparently you are unfamiliar with the process in which a child is brought into this world. It might explain the callousness in which you approach human life." Natural childbirth " relates to the situation where the child is delivered vaginally without a "saddle block". If you ever attended La Maz or Bradley method classes you would be familiar with the term.

The mere fact you feel responsible to block the pain before you end an innocent life speaks to the atrocity you wish to promote.

Absurd deflection that has nothing whatsoever with the legal status of being born.

No where did I imply c-sections are wrong or even Christian. You miss the point. You implied "children born Naturally". C- sections are not "natural". <Mod Edit- Rule 2/3>

    BZZZT Wrong!

Medical procedures are ROUTINELY done under anesthetic!

Do you consider that removing your appendix under anesthetic is an atrocity?

Is having a polyp removed from your colon under anesthetic an atrocity?

That you have to resort to such asinine reaches says volumes.

The method of birth has no relevance to the legality of being a "naturally born" person.

That you feel the need to conflate utter irrelevancies exposes your desperation.

Death sentence are carried out when the condemned is put under anesthesia. Given you apply this technique to end an innocent life is an indication that you do have an awareness before you sear your conscious.

"conflate utter irrelevancies".....your pompous 10 cent words do not destroy the truth. Slavery was once legal. Legal doesn't make it right.

You are sexist when you constantly promote the idea that pro-life positions are misogynistic. It is the leftist game of "identity politics." Calling your opposition racist, misogynistic, or whatever, to your demented mind, ends the discussion. In using the term "misogynist" you sex-bait or expose your sexist position which is obvious.
It's cute when you roll around on the ground laughing and act like a little girl.

WOW! You really do know you have no argument :)

BTW, who is this "we" you refer to? Can't you just speak for yourself or are there more than one of "you".

Now, now, you 've been pouting ever since I told you I was an atheist so now your whole argument is that I'm "godless"".....ya know, you are just going to have to come up with more firepower than that...

BTW, There are many people who believe in a god and they get abortions....
