I have not promoted and will not promote white guilt. Like white nationalism, it is based on a collectivist philosophy that I do not accept. I prefer the individualist philosophy that actually made this country great to begin with. I'm half white and have no more problem proclaiming Scottish heritage; I wear my kilt for formal affairs, with the family colors, I read Scottish literature, history and philosophy, etc. I have no guilt for being Scottish on my father's side. You are barking up the wrong tree.

And you can't bemoan the "white genocide" litany out of one side of your mouth and then claim out of the other that you aren't talking about a victimhood narrative. Your entire argument that you provided before this was based on the fear that whites will fall victim. Switching tracks from victimhood to pride doesn't change the fact that you were originally talking about victimhood.

Nothing you have to say remotely sounds like support in my book.

We should definitely afford them the opportunity. What I have for them is distaste, but not a desire to silence them. In fact, I'd rather ignorance be vocal and in the open. I'm just being vocal, and perhaps overdramatic, in my condemnation.

Absolutely. I had several people try to get me to sign a petition to ask the University to bar him from coming. I refused to sign. If they want to shine the spotlight on themselves, let them. I've talked more than one person off of the white nationalist ledge and none of that would have been possible if they had continued only pursuing their interest in silence.

Well, that's where I have to divert a little. These guys can be a pretty considerable threat, despite their small numbers. In my own lifetime (let's just say mid 30s) I've seen them responsible for dragging deaths, bombings, shootings, arson, beatings. Disturbingly, I had to listen to people I had known for years, some of them family, even express support for some of those attacks. Disturbingly, I can see how I would have fallen prey to the same parasitic thoughts if I had grown up in different circumstances, perhaps only because I saw so many I thought I trusted fall prey to it.

I'll just end on this note: when I was a kid, there was this white nationalist terrorist who had bombed Olympic Park, a couple of abortion clinics and a gay club. I can still remember my older cousin turning to me during news coverage of the gay club bombing and saying, with a smile on his face and not a shred of shame, "This guy is off to a nice start!" It only takes a little bit of influence to ruin a lot of lives.

But you are right about the rope, and I think that is the most important part. Let the ignorant be loud so at least they can be confronted.

Well I'm about the same age and I remember hearing about the dragging murder at the hands of white supremacists. I have family that has a tendency toward racism. Some that down right are. When i think about it, i suppose they are capable of such violence.
