yes, we already know people hallucinate. There is no such thing as an out of body experience.

    There's no proof of hallucination.

True..... and scientists are getting closer and closer each year to
explaining about how intelligence is not limited to four dimensional
    space - time.

There is no generally accepted scientific evidence but there is certainly evidence; anecdotal as well as some interesting test results. I will have to do some checking to be sure, but I think a few experiments have been published in respectable journals.

Some of the most compelling anecdotal accounts come from the police. There are many cases of alleged psychics helping to find victims of crimes. Because these are not repeatable and generally only amount to a newspaper report, it is impossible to study. At the least there seems no way to falsify any particular account. They can't produce results on demand but have produced results, with some being very impressive.

There have also be a number of controlled experiments done by respectable scientists that produced tantalizing results. I don't know the current state of this - how many have been repeated with what results - but they are out there.

Here is one example of an ESP study yielding positive results, published in a respectable journal.

Here is an amazing...... Shared Death Experience... that is different from a near death experience..... because Sharon Prentice Ph. D. experienced the death experience of her husband along with him......
    as he died......
which is quite different from an NDE.

Here is an article on the NDE's of Muslims.......
In my opinion the basic theme of these accounts is similar to what Christians, Jews or Atheists are taught during NDE's.

    https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc461743/m2/1/high_res_d/29-1 Final 3 Nahm.pdf
Personally... .I suspect that Muslims have nearly as many NDE's as we North Americans do........ If there is any difference it would mostly be accounted for by the fact that our hospitals are better equipped....... but the NDE's are so different from the warlike flavour of the Koran... .that it is more difficult for Muslims to go public with what they were shown.....

We certainly should expect NDEs to be fundamentally very similar if not identical the world over, given that they are an internal experience produced by an organism under extreme duress and are not likely to be too influenced by something as superficial as religious belief. The same basic effects on the conscious mind need to be interpreted by it. If anything, NDEs and other such visions long ago helped to shape religious notions of spirits and forms of afterlife, not vice versa.

I totally agree with you on this.........
I would go so far as to say that Rabbi Yeshua - Jesus had either an NDE......
or at least an out of the body experience after long term fasting..........
Matthew chapter 4 reminds me very much of an OOBE or NDE......
(frankly a rather unusual one at that).......
and right after his lengthy fast...... and OOBE or NDE experience......
Rabbi Yeshua - Jesus begins teaching with astonishing power and authority.......
and even knows about how to kick out Hungry Ghosts / demons / discarnate entities ....... out of people whose lives are being messed up by them......

    This is certainly interesting.......

These two awesome human beings.... and awesome Christians..... if they were taught to be able to quote the following..........
.... wow.. but could they ever have saved themselves a lot of problems..................

I am so glad that I was set up in such a way that I could personally understand the NDE of Mr. Christian Andreason.........

So does that mean that you cannot imagine an Intelligence composed of fundamental or
nearly fundamental energy capable of planning and choreographing Big Bang type events?

Sounds like that would be a "god". Unless you mean like some intelligent being named Bob sitting out on some remote planet toying with us like a video game. Well, then, maybe.

True.... that sure does sound like a "G-d" to me as well..... but
by definition according to many Theists.... a G-d who learns..... or in some sense "Evolves"...... and gets better and better at
creation..... is not "God" by their definition of God?!

A god who learns or evolves does so only in the mind of an intelligent theist.

    An excellent point.......
I am a Christian who is convinced that Buddhists are really onto something with their ideas on reincarnation in some form.......
Their ideas sure do fit with the Dr. Ian Stevenson research:

I'm an atheist who believes that all people who are basically good, whoever they are, other atheists, Christians, Buddhists et al, all have something to look forward to. That would be a happy life here on earth before they die and are gone.

I am a Christian who believes that ethical Atheists tend to have near death experiences more positive than many of us Christians have...... because we Christians tend to twist our religion into something that we feel we have to Smite others with?!

Mellen Benedict was formerly an Atheist before his near death experience.....
but he came back with a powerful message that he passed on to millions of people all across the
    Philosophical spectrum.

Nothing in this universe or any other, is static & unchanging. Someone once said, "The only constant is change." It's true.

I was where you are for a very long time, but published accounts of Near Death Experiences (NDEs) convinced me I was wrong. If you value truth, as I do, I suggest you give some books on NDEs some of your time. Since, like you, I began my research from an atheist's perspective, research on possible reincarnation came effortlessly after NDEs. Books by Dr Brian Weiss (a former doubter), and Dr Michael Newton, were powerful statements on the possibility of reincarnation & of our spiritual existence. I both suggest & hope you'll explore these subjects with an open mind. The worlds I discovered thru them expanded my world view into realms I had no idea existed.

    Thanks for the input.

I started my research from a Christian's perspective and arrived where I am now.
