Its logical to assume if one doesn't believe in something they dont talk about something they dont believe in..

Do you hear Christians for example talk all the time about the sun spirit?

No because it never crosses our mind.

All atheist do is say there is no Christian god, jesus never exists, why would anybody talk about something they claim doesn't exist?

The Septuagint was in Greek, not Hebrew, and hard core Jews don't trust it.

Complete nonsense. I hear Christians talk about worldviews that they think are false all of the time.

This is why talking to you people is pointless. Is there anything else I need to know about my intentions?

Mostly the ones like yours, because you keep trying to force them on us.

First half of your statement is true. But this god did not write the bible, men did and did a poor job of it.

So you are admitting that these "interpretations" are incorrect and changed the original. You just negated your entire argument.

You either don't know what my worldview is or you don't know what force is.

I didn't "admit" anything, I am just tired of these claims that your inability to understand something is God's fault.

And my post was in English, so you should have been able to read it. I never claimed the Septuagint was in Hebrew. It is a Greek translation of the Hebrew. Hence I mentioned referencing it to see how they translated the Hebrew word in question into Greek.

Yes, you did, and I'd tell you what it is but that's not the topic of this thread.

No I haven't forced you. You are quite free to take the Bible literally as history and science.

Margot2 has not forced anything on you. Debate and discussion is not force. Why the need to pretend it is?

Government schools don't teach first century history.

I know what the Septuagint is, that wasn't the problem, the problem was that one thing had nothing to do with the other. What we were talking about was trying to translate ancient Hebtew into English, not Greek.

Well by the first century there were lots of Greek speaking Jews so it makes perfect sense.

They don't teach any kind of history, but they used to teach reading comprehension.

Obviously they don't teach reading comprehension anymore.

The "you" was the collective "you", meaning "you and everybody who thinks like you", and I was speaking of the real world, not this place. Now quit trying to derail the thread.
