This talk is loaded with novel insights. 31:00- Why are we here? Complexity goes up and then down with the arrow of time in the lifespan of the universe as low entropy gives way to high entropy. The rich interesting period is in the middle, our time.

The big bang starts off simple and at low entropy. The end will come as the last black hole burns out.

38:00- Food is a low entropy source of energy that is facilitated by emissions from the sun. Besides the heat wave energy radiated away by the planet, life gives back to the universe 20 times as many photons as it receives but at 1/20th the energy of each and 20 times as much entropy.

55:30- There are some of us who think that space and time are not fundamental (He also offered his reasons for thinking that time is more fundamental than space).
