Nigel Farage has made good on his promise to launch a new political party to contest British MEP seats if the UK has to vote in European elections.

    It's called The Brexit Party.

I for one would be voting for them, as Theresa May time and time again has ignored her promise of Global Britain and has asked the EU for more extensions to convince the UK to back her deal with the EU.
I'm beginning to lose faith in the UK crashing out of the EU in 48 hours (Friday the 12th of April).

Me too. But then I thought there would be a 'remain' result in the referendum, and couldn't believe it when I awoke to the news it was a leave result. So let's hope we're wrong (sic) again?

It's now a flexible deadline that runs out on 31st of October 2019 up for a progress review in June 2019, so, maybe May general election for May to pave a way for a horrid Corbyn takeover?
    ..Or worse.

Alas, everybody knows it's fear keeping the PM's party in power,
'fear of her political opponents getting in', that kind of fear - a very stupid but real kind of fear.
So, I want the Tory Party I'm a member of to let me chose the head of the party between Jacob Reese-Mogg and Boris Johnson for Brexit PM - Give them a statue in Parliament Square for our children, and our children's children, and our children's children's children to remember, and put them on some future £5 note.

Member of establishment declares war on establishment? Yep, Rees-Mogg sister is also a proper revolutionary!

Crikey, there's really no hope for the English nationalists. Pathetic.

The funniest part is that he has formed the party to fight the European elections. Nigel's not yet ready to jump off the Brussels gravy train he's been on for the last 20 years.

What would there be to lose? They couldn't possibly be more useless and incompetent than the Tories and Labour?

More like the promise of Brexit not yet happened.

It's really because UK's still in the EU that this has come about.

The feeling of being let down for not having left the EU already. Promising what's on the tin 'The Brexit Party', and that's why it's going after 'the Tory / Labour establishment' because UK's still in the EU.

    Theresa May didn't deliver Brexit.

You still live in the Empire, Global UK, as you call it.
    Ain't there.
Today the UK hangs on to 5th place in the world, pre Brexit.
But for 2019, it will become 7th, behind France and India.
7th, is a very generous prediction, probably 10th, or some were.

    If it is lucky.

The Empire isn't Global UK, for you see, trade doesn't have to dominate the other, and that's where Germany get confused, maybe in days of old, but not in 2019.

You still live in a time gone by, the Global UK and its power.

It is nothing but a little Island, which got rich because of the EU and will find out how little it is, again.
Like in the 70 when it joined, as the sick man of Europe.

The US as its savior, to funny.
Got your growth hormones already ?

I think memories of that will be erased by the propaganda in the next GE. I hope I'm wrong but the vast majority of the electorate is afraid of change, and with a little bit of 'smoothing the way', the Tories will launch their manifesto with (let's call it) 'a charm offensive', starting with promises of a give-away the like of which has never been seen before - Brexit with a deal is more important to the political class than any of us realises. Hammond has already hinted at (sorry about all the inverted commas lol) a 'jam tomorrow' budget which he thinks will mitigate our anger . . . and I'm afraid it will - monetary bribes in general elections manifestos always work?? And then there's Hunt's warning in this morning's news of the danger of us not getting involved in the approaching Euro elections, suggesting how much we'll regret not accepting Maybot's plan if we don't all knuckle down and accept that 'Your politicians know what's best for you, so leave it to us.' - see how it works?? So the next GE will be won by one or other of Tory and Labour, and then it'll be at least another 4 years before we can get rid of them when the penny drops that they fooled us. [IMG]

And that's even if we have another GE, because general elections are a part of the democratic process, and we all know that we're watching democracy disappear down the plughole? And the next stop after the GE result, when not if it's won by either of them? Monetary union.

With Corbyn, we don't need to risk a general election (that would be reckless); We need to have a new leadership contest within the Tory party and chose somebody who believes in Brexit.

...or indeed anyone in possession of an ounce of gravitas....I like that word...Gravitas....haven't seen any politicians lately that can lay claim to having some of that. Why is it that its always the pre-packaged numpties that win through in election...I mean can you actually say that within the last 30 years we've actually had a "Leader"...by that I mean someone that isn't out to fill up his ego and bank account whilst wittering platitudes and canned politi-speak at the TV news cycles. Brexit is a sideshow to the illumination of just how mighty egos and tiny intellects are failing the nation as a whole...a P.T. Barnum extravaganza of absolute political insanity brought about by an uninspired populace.

    That's true.

Congress won't just turn for a closer UK US trade deal; The Good Friday Agreement further complicates things.

So I think we need more rights for UK to leave the EU and for Ireland to feel safe, such as insuring there is no return to troubles with strict anti terrorism laws.

    Good point.

The Brexit Party plus UKIP together would be 2nd behind labour by recent poll

That is UKIP 13%, The Brexit Party 12%, The Tories 17% and Labour 29%

    https://www.theguardian.com/politic...l-defection-change-uk-tory-poll-five-year-low

add to that the Rees-Mogs of the Tory party and they would likely have the highest numbers.

That is for European Elections. Uk are different and Brexit Party not included.

But that won't happen, because the Tory Remainers outnumber the Leavers.

Where do you get Labour leading the polls from?

According to all sources, Brexit Party is leading the polls.
