A lecture on the history of liberal identity politics by Joseph Kishore of the Socialist Equality Party and the World Socialist Website. Kishore details how the politics of racial, gender and other forms of identity are right-wing and anti-working class: The politics of division: Marxism vs. identity politics - Marxist.com
Socialism: An in depth explanation What did Karl Marx say about vanadium steel? Adam Smith died before steam railroads. Marx was born when railroads were just getting started. Vanadium steel did not exist when Marx died. The Model-T Ford was the first mass commercial use of vanadium steel. Now we live in a world of planned obsolescence and the capitalists and socialists could have been advocating mandatory accounting/finance in the schools since Sputnik. Now we have a world of trash and climate change. The socialists can't figure out that the capitalists can't do algebra. NDP = GDP - (Dcap + Dcon)
I think it has divided the right more than the left, because it seems like its all the populist pseudo-cons ever talk about. Or.....maybe it has united them behind the "poor victimized straight Christian white male"
Technology has created more ways for capitalists to be stupid. But consumers must be dumb enough to go along with it. If you search Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations you will find that he used the word 'education' EIGHTY TIMES. The capitalists misinform us about Smith for propaganda purposes. Worship the Invisible Hand, even though Smith only mentioned it once.
Do they explain the socialist theory of wealth creation in that video? Is there one? Do socialists have any explanation for what is wealth, and how it's created?
If you had a diamond that a jeweler told you was worth $50,000 could you tell if it was dug up in a socialist country or a capitalist country? If the diamond cutter believed in capitalism, communism or socialism? If I told you it was a useless rock would you throw it away? You need to distinguish physical reality from social reality and what is just in your head. Either watch it or don't. Think what you want.
What makes you think that a diamond is wealth? I'd see as more of a store of value, and perhaps not a very good one these days. It's clear that you don't know what wealth is, how it's created, and what the socialist theory of wealth creation is (hint: there isn't). Thus, you'll expend the wealth created for you by your ancestors, and descend into the natural state of mankind: subsistence level poverty, obedient to a small elite who tells you that it's good for you while they live well. Socialism is a death cult. It cannot survive without being a parasite on those who produce and it will seek to kill those who produce because they will be unwilling to be slaves.
No, Marx -- the Anti-Economist -- predicted that industrial capitalism would suffer a series of crises caused by overproduction and declining profits. The crises are actually of finance capitalism, and are caused by the debt-money system, which Marx did not understand, while profits are rising because of artificial scarcity. So Marx could hardly have been more comprehensively wrong.
Although socialism and capitalism are both based on the same Big Lie Marx concocted, socialism is even worse than capitalism because when socialists steal factories, the number of factories available for production decreases, while when capitalists steal land, the amount of land available for production stays exactly the same. One of the most surprising developments of the last 30 years has been the resurgence of interest in socialism among the young despite its unanimous record of catastrophic failure in the 20th century. IMO, identity politics and the nurturance of grievance-based political analysis have been major factors in that phenomenon.
So only capitalists can define wealth. It is interesting that capitalists have not suggested mandatory accounting/finance in the schools. Neither have socialists. Adam Smith mentioned 'education' EIGHTY TIMES in Wealth of Nations and said, "read, write, and Account" but the capitalist propagandists just blather about the Invisible Hand.
