The Confederacy represents racism

I love all these people claiming things about the confederacy but are refusing to, or are incapable of, answering even the simplest of questions I pose to them.

Lol no he didn’t. He banned people from certain countries who were majority Muslim.

 

The war was over the ability of an individual state's RIGHT to permit business activities within its own borders that had been and integral part of life in the South already for more than 200 years before the Civil War broke out!

Reality: the states that made up the "Deep South" had relied on the use of enslaved workers to propel their intensely agrarian societies and economy. Slavery was customary throughout much of the entire world -- especially in Sub-Saharan Africa, where 'black-on-black' slavery was UBIQUITOUS....

Slavery, as you surely know, had been widely practiced throughout the entirety of the American colonies, too, since early in the 17th-century, and slavery was included as a perfectly normal RIGHT at the time our Constitution was written and agreed upon by ALL states in the United States by the beginning of the 19th-century! (Hint: re-read the 10th Amendment to the U. S. Constitution).

The rest you know.... The Northern states began to become more "industrialized" (the "Industrial Revolution") . But the Southern states didn't 'follow the lead' that had begun with England, France, and the Northern U. S., where slave labor was no longer needed to support the entire economy.

The South grew more and more alienated by the central, 'Federal' government, feeling the North was going to abolish a necessary 'tool' of their whole way of life, and so they decided to form their own country. The far more wealthy and populous North CRUSHED the South... end of story.

Conclusion: you're right -- the South was 'racist'! And, again, it is a true statement that many in other countries thought that negroes were inferior, and many even thought that negroes were little more evolutionarily-advanced than apes and monkeys!

The aftereffects of this genuinely racist thinking contaminated American beliefs until about World War II, and then by 1965, we had finally abolished REAL 'systemic racism' with the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act. A lot of people didn't agree with it at the time, but during the next ten years or so, even in the Deep South, segregation and legalized inequality were done completely away with!

Fast-forward to 2020.... We've got anarchic mobs roaming the streets, destroying or stealing everything they can lay their hands on, and raising hell about police who are fought and shot at by law-breaking black 'perps' who commit crimes involving everything from passing counterfeit money, selling illegal drugs, to one life-endangering 'domestic-violence' episode after another, and violently resisting arrest! Oh -- and the mobs blame it on "RACISM".

Sorry... but as they say down South, "That dog don't hunt!"

Again. The evidence doesn’t support that claim. The south had no need to go to war to preserve slavery as an inalienable constitutional right. All they had to do was sign the Corwin amendment.

No court would uphold such a silly idea.

He then found out that he could not legally do that so he found a way to ban travel from as many Muslim nations as possible
