    Turns out you can't always get away with it. Too bad it's not more strictly enforced, might actually have a media who could be forced into being honest, they sure wont do it on their own. A win for Mrs Trump.
    ======================
    The U.K. Telegraph is generally a reliable source, at least when compared to some of the journalistic rot in Albion. However, even the esteemed Telegraph is not immune to the lure of the anti-Trump hit-piece — in this case, targeting first lady Melania Trump.

    Unfortunately, when you don’t have the facts right and you’re publishing in a country where libel laws are a lot less restrictive than the United States, that’s a very dangerous proposition. It’s a proposition that cost the Telegraph a “substantial” bit of money and a lot of face.

    In the US public figures generally have to prove malice or a reckless disregard for the truth to win a defamation case.
    But at this point that may actually be a very low bar for any public figure associated with Trump.

    This is true. The amount of vitriol directed at him is astounding.

    Here is another:

    "We accept that Mrs Trump was a successful professional model in her own right before she met her husband and obtained her own modelling work without his assistance," the paper wrote.

    The Telegraph also retracted claims that Melania Trump cried the night President Trump won the 2016 election and acknowledged that it "wrongly claimed" Melania Trump's family moved to New York in 2005 to live in buildings owned by her husband."
