    That's a religious belief.

It may be but it is also science, an ovum and a sperm separately are alone only ingredients but once combined become a zygote which is the genesis of a human being, so in the moment of that union the die is cast. The human blueprint is contained within the zygote, it is a living organism, a highly condensed human being. This is the process that produces all life, that's science and happens even in the absence of religious belief.

I didn't quote a number for fatalities or other injuries. I'm behind on those facts, focused elsewhere.

So to science it's not alive until it leaves the mother's body, LONG after a heartbeat is detected, and you say that's not alive? Am I reading you right?

Correct, but when this unique organism becomes a human being in the legal sense is not something any of us can determine. My personal belief is that if a fetus is capable of survival outside the womb, it is a human being. This, of course, is subject to modern medical technology, so even here it would be difficult to determine legally.

As already stated it is already a human being at conception, the zygote is not some neutral mass of cells, it is human in it's entirety, every biological development is in the queue and will manifest itself in systematic order. The cycle of life begins at conception and continues this systematic development throughout one's life, a single straight line from beginning to end. Why this isn't a matter of law is political and contrary to science.

As I already stated, and you agreed with, that's a religious belief.

If the anti-abortion crowd actually believed what you write here, they would be demanding the criminalization of fertility clinics, where "human beings" are routinely frozen, and discarded as biological waste if unused. If and when the anti-abortion crowd demands justice for the "murders" being committed in fertility clinics around the country, then and only then will I see their position as anything other than political.

So, we disagree completely. Your turn.

My House of Representative is a nice person and keeps me well informed. She's a Democrat and I had planned to vote for her because she is the better candidate. I was upset with her in her 1st year because she voted with Pelosi to impeach Trump but that is bridge under the water. Her opponent is pro Trump but not very honest. This situation over the Supreme Court and the threat that the Democrats plan to stack the court if they gain power and even impeach Trump again has me reconsidering for the Democrat even though she is the better person.

I said it may be religious, I didn't say that was my belief. I don't subscribe to any formal religion, am neither Christian nor Jew or anything else. I do believe that we aren't all there is, we're certainly not the top of any hierarchical pyramid although we're vain enough to think so.

Well, your user name is confusing, but I wasn't assuming anything because of it. I'm guessing you're against abortion, but I could be wrong there, too. Lol.

I'm befuddled by religion, but that's just me.

Yeah, religion is man made and anything man makes falls far short of the perfection of the natural world. The spark that transpires between ovum and sperm that creates a human being is something we know happens but we don't know how it happens, we can observe it, we can describe it but the how is beyond our ability to understand. It isn't just unknown I believe it's unknowable. My user name refers to a hierarchy, God as I understand it is the source of rationality. With all of the information we have it is irrational to believe that our being is some random occurrence. We didn't create ourselves and we didn't just spontaneously burst into being. For me just below God is country and living as long as I have and seeing all that I have seen in my travels I've come to appreciate how truly blessed we all are to live in America. If ever there was a promised land this is it. If you sift through all the BS and evil and pare down our Constitution to it's core meaning you have the true intent of the universe. We were not the first to understand that but I fear that we are the last and it's fading fast, just look around. Hatred can never unite, this has never been so clear as witnessed in whats happening in the streets of America. The mob is attacking itself in many places, the riots are ratcheting down but not the mania, they've run out of victims so they're attacking each other. It's been chaos start to finish.
