As in the quote about changes, in general: these debates seemed to take took longer than they should have to occur, and now they're happening more quickly than we would've imagined. The first Biden vs. Trump debate will be this coming Tuesday, Sept. 29th, from Case Western Reserve Univ. & the Cleveland Clinic, in Cleveland OH.

The debate will be 90 minutes & commercial-free, from 9-10:30 p.m. ET, & moderated by Fox News' Chris Wallace. Mr. Wallace has planned to have 6 Topic sections (roughly 15 mins. each):

    The Trump & Biden Records
    The Supreme Court
    Covid-19
    The Economy
Race & Violence in our Cities
    The Integrity of the Election

Sounds like a barn-burner! After Wallace's introductory remarks to each segment, the candidates will get 2 minutes each for their initial response, followed by moderated debate.

The following Wed., Oct. 7, will be the sole Vice-Presidential Debate between incumbent V.P. Mike Pence and Senator Kamala Harris of California, Joe Biden's running-mate. It'll be in the same time-slot, w/ nine, 10-minute segments. That contest will come from the Univ. of Utah in Salt Lake City & be moderated by USA Today's Susan Page.

So what kind of Moderator does everyone think Chris Wallace will be? While I think it's fair to say his viewpoint has a Republican lean, he has NOT given President Trump the kid-glove treatment. In fact, looking at some of the topics-- particularly, "The Integrity of the Election," &, "Covid-19"-- I foresee rough seas ahead for our Commander-in-Chief. Though I would be surprised if Wallace didn't, to some degree, put the screws to Biden, as well, it will be very interesting to see how he introduces, "The Supreme Court," and, "The Trump & Biden Records," as well.

I must correct my last post: I just discovered that Fox News Anchor Chris Wallace is actually a registered DEMOCRAT.

An incidental note, for those others who didn't realize it, is that Wallace is the son of legendary 60 Minutes reporter, Mike Wallace.

Regardless of how either do in the debate, both democrats and republicans will claim victory and say their guy made the other look foolish. Happens everytime they have one of these so prepare for the threads talking about how Biden and Trump crushed the other.

To give credit where it's due, I learned this via Trump's comment about Chris Wallace being a, "wanna-be," in striving for his father's success (I did verify that The President had the relationship right).

There's definitely truth to what you say, RedWolf. By the same token, debates have been known to affect the electorate's opinion & the ultimate result of elections. Granted, this is a hyper-partisan contest, w/ the majority of peoples' opinions set & long-hardened in place. Yet, opinion polls & the electoral map tell us it won't take a huge number of people changing their minds to shift the final result. And an important part of that, "change," will be how each candidate either adds to or detracts from the enthusiasm-level of their own, or their opponent's, supporters (inducing people to either prioritize showing up at the polls or be willing to sit-out the election).

Predictably, each camp will proclaim victory. But that doesn't mean all viewers will accept those spins. It sounds as though you, like me, have heard these, "expert," opinions & wondered, "what debate were they watching?" And with all each side has suggested about the other candidate's mental fitness, as well as the verbal gaffs both Trump & Biden have made in the past, this debate can't help but exude the potential of a fight in which-- no matter how things look-- at any moment, one of the contenders has the potential of delivering a devastating blow, to themselves.

I hope you watch, just for fun.

Considering my job has me practically ripping my hair out, you can be sure I will watch the debates.

    I desperately need the laughs.

Nah. Fake news. I have been assured by quite a few here that Biden will not participate in any debate. How can you get this so wrong? Ever feel as though you have been conned?

Chris Wallace is very fair-minded. I look forward to the debate.

This didn't happen in 2016. The consensus among not-stupid people was that Trump lost every debate. Even ****ing Brit Hume admitted that Hilary mopped the floor with Trump.

But obviously the consensus among stupid people was very different.

Stupid people vote and their vote is worth exactly as much as smart people. There are far far more stupid people in America than smart people. If you are conceding that Trump won that segment of the voting public, he necessarily won the debate.

So basically you just said "it didn't happen but it did with the people that I don't agree with". That is all kinds of stupid.

Biden will test positive without symptoms just before the first debate and offer to do it via video so his handlers can edit the video and feed him answers.

Chris Wallace is perhaps the fairest journalist I’ve seen lately, but he’s said something critical of Trump at least once—recently even—so... he’s not all that popular on the right at the moment.

    But he’s good!

FOX had to go with him because the sound people refused to work if any of the screamers were to moderate.

Time to watch the propaganda media show just how much in the tank for the Democrats they are. They polish the Biden turd for all he is worth while attacking President Trump.

Well if you, or they, are confident in their assurances, there's time to cash in, betting online at an international, "book," establishment (because betting on our elections is unlawful in the U.S.) Right now, $100 will get you $170 if you're right about Biden not showing at this 1st or at the 3rd debate (Thur., Oct. 22, in Nashville, TN). To win $100 on Biden showing for either of those affairs, one would need to bet $250 (2 to 5 odds). So handicappers expect to see Joe there.

Interestingly, the debate that odds-makers (& bettors) are shakiest on Biden attending is the 2nd one, on Thur., Oct. 15th. One only need bet $160 to win $100 for Joe attending, & will only get $120 back on a c-note wager that Biden won't participate. That 2nd debate is slated to be a, "town hall," style, w/ questions from the audience--which it would seem to me a format better-suited to Biden than the President-- so maybe that betting-line reflects the idea of there potentially being an indoor crowd. Or possibly, it could have something to do w/ the location & unpredictability about the type of voters that crowd may consist of: it's to be held in Miami, Florida...
    Well I guess we'll see.

This is incorrect. Their vote is actually worth more because of the electoral college.
    Fair enough.

Smart people understand how to judge a debate performance. Dumb people do not.

And you're so smart that anyone who doesn't think like you is stupid? Sure thing. You tell yourself whatever you have to to keep feeling morally and intellectually superior. If you need it that bad then I'm not going to burst your bubble.

Since when do they release debate topics beforehand? I mean other than Hillary getting fed the questions beforehand.

In the left-of-center, upside-down world, everything is opposite.
    Example: Police bad, criminals good.
Apparently it also applies to stupid and smart.
