Several posters claim Biden will not be the nominee. I think he will be (if not he, then who?)

I think it will be Biden.

    I hope it is Biden.

But no matter who it is, the nominee will be a hell of a lot better for America and the free world...that that abomination in the White House now.

I say Bloomberg, for his record as Mayor and his financial resources alone.

I am genuinely afraid of Warren. Observing her, she seems very fishy and appears to be the kind of character who turns out to be even worse than she appears. At least with Hillary, everybody knew she was a psycho. Bernie Sanders is the same - We know what he wants and we know what we'll get, but Warren is very different.

Although she could very well turn out to be the nominee my guess remains what it has always been - Joe Biden gets the nominee and also beats Trump to become the POTUS.

Unless(!!!!), Hillary annoumces her campaign. All Democratic candidates are rather useless and - to use Trump's term - "very low energy", so it might very well be that case the Hillary is just waiting for them to defeat themselves before she jumps in and steals the show.

Probably not a very original or unique prediction, but it is what I think.

Probably one of the top three, Biden, Warren, Sanders. Although Buttigieg is a very long shot. This does make me wonder if one doesn't have to be an extremely old fart to run for the Democratic nomination. What's this, no one under 70 may apply?

No doubt Biden is the front runner. But two months ago it looked like Warren was on the move up and even passed Biden in the polls for a day in October. She since has fallen back to a ten point deficit. Sanders has been floating along between 15-18 points now for three months. Never going above 18 or below 15.

I think Biden will eventually get the nomination. Mainly because of black support for him. Roughly 45% of blacks support old Joe, blacks also make up a third of the Democratic Primary vote. Warren and Sanders have been running between 10-15% support among blacks. Like Obama in 2008 and Hillary in 2016 rode black support to the nomination, I say Biden will do the same in 2020.

FYI over the last couple of months Warren has led among white democratic primary voters with an average of 20%, Biden and Sanders at roughly 15% each. Biden and Sanders have average around 25% of the Hispanic voters to Warren's 10%.

If the loyalty of these groups of voters remain about the same, Biden is your man.

Buttigieg would make sense. It would bring regional balance to the ticket. Northeast/Midwest. Both are more or less moderates, at least accordingly to Democratic Party standards.I doubt Buttigieg could deliver Indiana though. Klobuchar might be another possibility. Hillary only won Minnesota by 1.5 points in 2016, she would guarantee Minnesota stayed Democratic.

Another interesting possibility I heard talk about is Stacey Abrams. She young, she forced Kemp, our governor into a runoff. Almost beat him. Although she is but a state representative, she was the minority party leader in the Georgia House. She also has a history of working across the aisle much like Biden had when he was a senator. To me being a numbers guy, choosing Abrams might swing Georgia from red to blue. Either way, Buttigieg, Abrams or Klobuchar, I'd be fine with all three.

Buttgeig has no chance, because, to be a viable Dem candidate, he needs the support of black voters, and black voters, and black officials, will NOT support a gay white man PERIOD
Hell, Trump has more support from black voters than Buttgeig could ever hope for.

An uncomfortable reality that makes the wokesters cringe and hide in their safe spaces- blacks will never walk into a voting booth and pull a gay white man's lever EVER.

For VP, only the nominee must like and want him. Among blacks, Buttigieg has a 33% favorable/21% unfavorable with the rest not knowing who the heck he is or or not sure, don't know. Question 41F. Trump on the other hand has a 14% favorable among blacks vs. 81% unfavorable. Question 80A.

    https://d25d2506sfb94s.cloudfront.net/cumulus_uploads/document/a10nw9wbas/econTabReport.pdf

Even with Buttigieg totally unknown by 45% of blacks, his favorable rating among them, 33% is much higher than Trump's 14%. Not to mention the unfavorable rating Trump has among blacks at 81% vs. Buttigieg's 21%.

If the election were held today Buttigieg would receive 70% of the black vote to Trump's 9%. 21% being undecided.

The Democrats seem intent on trying to get their impeachment of Trump, even though when this little 'spitball' arrives in the Senate it will go NOWHERE.

In return, though, ALL the 'dirty linen' involving Geriatric Joe Biden and his worthless child will be aired-out fully for all the world to see. That wouldn't matter to the Democrat 'faithful', of course, but it will leave Joe too damaged and tarnished to run for anything but the back door with a majority of American voters.

I voted "other", and although it's just a wild-ass guess, I'm starting to think that Bloomberg might be the one they pick after all! Sure, he's a garden-variety hyperliberal creep, just like the rest of them, but he's not so flagrant about it as those in the 'socialist' wing. AND, he does understand what an 'economy' actually is, and that puts him head and shoulders above the pack, too. He's got the 'pockets' to buy the election and out-shout all competitors. So....

I can see him picking Dizzy Lizzy Warren to be VP (and get the left-leaning, 'angry' female vote) and making a real effort next year. Actually, I'm already seeing Bloomberg political ads. He's got the CASH, and he's spending it right now!

But, like Geriatric Joe Biden, Bloomberg has one major problem -- he's already ANCIENT (he'll be 78 years old next February)....

upload_2019-12-1_9-33-20.jpeg . You need another billionaire telling you how great everything is! Vote for Michael Bloomberg! :cynic:

I'm beginning to wonder about the Democrats. It seems to be to have a shot at the Democratic nominate one must be older than dirt, 70 or better and be from the Northeast. All others need not apply. With Trump at 73 and also from the Northeast, is this a geriatric wheel chair race to the Oval Office?

Am I to assume neither party has anyone capable of running this country that isn't above 70? that anyone below 70 is a dunce? Not to mention the rest of the country. Even William Weld who is challenging Trump is above 70 and also, from the Northeast.

the dems are the marque of voter fraud/rigging, and even without the help of super delegates, the top echelon and walstreet will never allow warren to win... if by some unforeseen happenstance she gets the 'nod' & if by some miraculous intervention she wins the election, you'll see a slew of contested results, lawsuits & injunctions preventing her from accomplishing anything right down to replacing the toilets in the whitehouse...

that said, it'll be bloomberg that is the wrench in the works, because he'll stay on the ballot even if warren is the dems choice... splitting the voter base to ensure she don't win the election... the lesser of two evils at play

You do make a good point, and, it reminds me that the Democrat president that I, personally, like the best (BY FAR), John F. Kennedy, was a whole, whopping FORTY-THREE YEARS OLD when he was elected!

Still, on the other hand, think about just about anybody you know today who is 43... would you want someone like that to be sitting in the White House? No? And, maybe that's part of why many of today's more viable Democrat candidates are (just say it), uh, OLD....

I was born right after WWII, Eisenhower whom I grew up under is the best president in my lifetime, JFK is number two. I was too young to personally remember anything about Truman. In JFK, the torch was passed from those born pre 1900 to the WWII generation. Then once more we had a generational shift from the WWII generation to the baby boomers when Bill Clinton was elected. It seems 2020 will probably be the last baby boomer presidential election.

The younger crowd of those who announced, Gabbard and Buttigieg have grabbed my attention. Kolbuchar is another, although she is 59. Steyer, I like, 62 along with Bullock, 53. Those are the one's who announced. I had hoped Tammy Duckworth would have entered, 59. I personally would mind handing over the reins of this country to either the 37 or 38 year old Gabbard and Buttigieg. Although a representative and a mayor, I'd much prefer a governor or a senator. Both Gabbard and Buttigieg seem smart enough to me to appoint those around them with experience and both would listen, I'm sure. Their lack of experience doesn't bother me that much.

It does appear that a kind of 'schism' is developing in the Democrat Party between people who are not total idiots, and those who are.

Still, look at ALL the Democrat Party's crop of new, 'rising stars'.... I would imagine that in Moscow and Beijing they cannot believe how wonderful their long-term prospects are if we can't produce any future leaders with more mentality than today's "Loonie Tunes" half-wits....

[IMG]. And there's LOTS more where this one came from....

And yet, every single Democrat running for president today -- with the exception, so far, of Michael Bloomberg -- has put their right hands in the air and made a public pledge that they would lavish free healthcare on illegal aliens. ALL OF THEM, old and young!

Using something so basic, elementary, and transparent as THAT, how could any of us in the 'middle' or on the Right want ANY of them? From a basic political position that supports shoveling welfare at illegal aliens, it only goes further downhill....

Comparison: which is worse? Being bitten by a rattlesnake, or being bitten by a copperhead? Or, what if you didn't have to be bitten by either one?! 8)
