Comparing Cortez to Pol Pot is as stupid as trying to make a connection between Ronald Reagan and Hitler. This OP is one of the lowest points on the forum.

Really? And here I thought she, her supporters, and her plan were the lowest points. I might be wrong, though. It might actually be the election and seating in Congress of Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar.

The only way to stop the use of fossil fuels is with the government’s gun. Was that not what emptied the cities in Cambodia into its killing fields! Does not the plan demand the sacrifice of our individual rights for the good of the nation, the earth, and humanity? Is that not altruism? Is that not the moral justification provided by every dictator from Caesar to Bismarck, to Lenin, to Hitler, to Stalin, to Mao, to Castro, to Khomeini, to Pol Pot?

Pol Pot had a plan. It was a crazy plan, but one he believed in. And he acted on it. Does AOC believe in her’s any less? And if given the power to enact it, will she behave any differently? I suspect not.

Did you even read the article?

Is it? When I heard the details of the "Green Deal" the comparison to Pol Pot immediately came to mind.

Which specific details reminded you of Pol Pot? Was it the universal healthcare or subsidized tertiary education? What was it?

"...upgrading all existing buildings in the United States and building new buildings to achieve maximal energy efficiency, water efficiency, safety, affordability, comfort, and durability, including through electrification..."

The immediate image that came to mind was the Khmer Rouge driving everyone out of the cities into the countryside. Because of the tight 10 year timeline, a lot of those people who were marched out of the cities will have to go back to actually rebuild all of those buildings, but I think the majority will have to go...somewhere. Work camps in rural areas?

There is a lot of dumb stuff in your Green Dream Supreme, but this was the part that conjured the scary Killing Fields imagery in me.

That sentence is an apt one for a moronic thread like this one.

I would compare cortez to hugo chavez rather than pol pot

Because cambodia is an undeveloped third world county totally unlike the US

Venezuala on the other hand was an advanced ecmonomiclly stable country before the leftwing wackos took over

Just followed the logic to its inevitable conclusion—to make the New Green Deal work will require the government’s gun and massive human sacrifices.

Can’t happen here? Reread the article.

    How about this?

Republicans are not happy because Ocasia does not want them to steal money from our pockets.

The attack on AOC by the right wind media is similar to the communist press of Pol Pot.

Fake Alt Right Media operates on Stalinist principles.

Civilization meet nomadic marauders. The marauders lost. Go figure.

But even if you had a valid point, which you don’t, two wrongs don’t make a right, right?

Yes that's right. Also who could forget the Khmer Rouge Department of Sustainable Energy and their very successful community recycling programs.

moonglow's valid point about marauding Europeans killing the indigenous peoples of America cannot be challenged by Starjet except for words that are not effective. Go figure..

You could have just used the "like" function to indicate your approval of moonglow's opinion ... versus redundant vitrue signalling that does nothing to expound upon moonglow's post or address starjet's topic. OcraZio - Cortez has now labeled FDR a racist, and everyone knows what happens next. The purge. All statues and portraits of FDR? Symbols of oppression & racism. Actions speak louder than words, and there's no denying the similarities between Khmer Rouge "year zero" and "progressive" revisionism. The fact that physical bloodletting hasn't yet been incorporated, doesn't mean the idiology isn't being promoted, or eliminate the possibility of actual violence. After all, in some states vandalism / destruction of property are considered a violent criminal offense.
