I like cereal. I think it's sorta desserti. lol. A lot of it, is really sugary and tastes like candy.
Peanut Butter Satin Its a true labor of love. Seriously, its a good hour or two of just whipping without a guarantee of success (at least in my experience).
Dont skimp on the whipping. If it doesnt set up properly, the result is completely unpalatable and unfixable.
at first I wasn't sure what you were talking about, so I looked it up. lol. pictures always welcome! They help get the salivating going.
My wife makes a mulberry rhubarb pie that is amazing. I like to make cranberry bread pudding with orange sauce and apple cinnamon bread pudding with caramel sauce. And many other deserts. I think there are several already in this thread including caramel pecan rolls and homemade ice cream.
I looked it up as well, but each recipe online is very different. Some use cream cheese, others butter along with the peanut butter. Care to share your recipe?
This. Almost worth the airfare to enjoy this again.... dang, I just drooled on my keyboard..... Classic Tiramisu | Scoma's ToGo (scomas.com)
1/2 c Peanut butter 1/2 c Butter 1/4 c Honey or brown sugar 1 ts Vanilla 3 Eggs (3 or 4) Servings: 2 Cream butters, sweetener and vanilla together. Add eggs, one at a time, beating on high speed at least 5 minutes after each addition. If mixture doesn't whip up well, be sure you are beating the full 5 minutes, or chill well, then finish beating. Serve 1/4 c in an attractive glass, or use as a pie or torte layer filling I got this recipe online, as I don't have one written down. But it looks right. I've found that closer to 10 minutes of beating after adding each egg is required. It may be because I use honey instead of sugar, but that's only a guess. After whipping, the result will be thick but pourable. Pour into several small cups, glasses or bowls and place in the fridge to set up. Might take some hours ...and might not set up at all. I have about a 50/50 success rate with this stuff. If it doesn't set up, some claim you can try beating it more and chilling again. This has never worked for me. I think if it isn't sufficiently beaten between each addition of more egg, then it will never set up. Thats my experience. I've never seen a recipe that calls for cream cheese. I wonder if maybe that makes it set up more reliably? Good luck!
ah, it replaces the eggs with cream cheese for pie. prolly more dense, like peanut butter cheese cake
I wish that I could bake better. I can cook though. I liked Bob Evans Pumpkin Bread. I bought some, when I went there for Thanksgiving once. I think that I've had rhubarb pie before, and I enjoy cranberry bread. Have you ever tried eating a tablespoon of cinnamon? I have, and couldn't do it. I wouldn't recommend it. I tried it when I was younger. It dries the mouth out instantly. it sucks! lol. I mentioned it, because you said cinnamon bread pudding with caramel sauce, which actually sounds pretty good.
OK, peanut butter cheese cake, that sickly decadent over kill (maybe deep fry it too!!). Glad I don't generally do deserts nor sweet stuff!
Mmmm. Pumpkin bread is good. Good call. I probably bake more than anything now. I think because I can throw something together and bake it while I do something else instead of a lot of cooking where you have to hover over the stove etc. My wife does most of that type of cooking these days although she bakes all the pies now. She’s much better at pastry crusts. But when we make caramel pecan rolls I make the dough and then she does the putting together and baking. I have heard of the cinnamon thing before but never been tempted to try it! I’d be afraid I’d cough and inhale it and I’ll bet that would really hurt! Ive been playing with caramel sauce for about a year now. I’ve decided simple is best. I use just heavy cream and dark or light brown sugar depending on the results you want. You can make in a saucepan (best) or microwave (easiest/fastest). I have pretty much unlimited access to cream so a lot of food revolves around that for me. Like biscuits. All you need is flour, baking powder and cream. Then if you want to go in the shortcake direction a little sugar and heavier on the cream. Most deserts end up with either fresh or whipped cream on them here!
Lucky! i wish I had a wife to cook me desserts. I just bought some cheesecake today, and two bags of unpackaged rollos
Yes, I’m very lucky! I’ve never met a cheesecake I didn’t like. Making me hungry! But my wife made lemon poppyseed zucchini bread the other day and I will probably have time to grab some of that later this morning!
I bought a banana creme mini pie today. I wish that it was a whole cake of it, because it is realllllllllllllllllllllllly Good! I looked for a whole one, but they didn't have it.
I've never heard of that. What is it made of? I just got a pound of banana pudding with vanilla waffers in it from the deli, and cherry cheesecake also.
