'What was your takeaway from the Eddie Eagle GunSafe Program? It could almost help the parents just as much to think ahead. For example, if you are taking them to their grandparent’s house you would then think of how to prepare with gun safety in mind. Especially living in a rural area – majority of the residents own guns.' I have never understood the left's opposition to gun safety. If they are opposed to the Eddie Eagle program, or claim that it is insufficient to achieve the desired results, let them craft a more effective approach to the matter, which does not involve the cost prohibitive approach of trying to remove currently owned firearms from society. They have offered up nothing but criticism, and claiming that discouraging or preventing firearms ownership will do better, because minors are simply too impulsive to educate about safety. Under such logic, there is no reason to teach children to do anything, because they are nothing more than animals that are physically incapable of learning anything.
The NRA is the gun safety expert organization. NRA trained instructors do the majority of civilian (non-military, which includes police) gun safety and marksmanship training in the U.S. They are the gun training equivalent of the American Red Cross first aid training. Of course Eddie the Eagle works, and works well. It was created by experts in the field.
Many politicians on the Left HATE the NRA for one reason: the NRA marshals votes against leftwing politicians. Most gun control schemes these days are nothing more than schemes by left-wingers to punish gun owners and the NRA for their predicted voting patterns
