idiotic of course, eliminating competition will only cripple them and make them ask for more time to learn how to compete

I never said he did. I said he refuted his original set of data, by presenting a new set of data.

There is nothing unfair about the distribution of Wealth in the US.

What you and so many others fail to understand is that the Poorâ„¢ have no use for Wealth. They don't understand Wealth and they don't know how to use Wealth to their own benefit.

Neither you nor Picketty have demonstrated how the imbalance of Wealth causes harm to the economy.

Neither does it show that fraud is non-existent or insignificant. Perhaps distributing the problem to local and much smaller groups to be attended to would make a difference. You also must take into account those who are employed to provide government services who might find their jobs dependent upon retaining a large enough number of persons requiring assistance. I've seen that used as a need to provide assistance to some persons simply to assure job security once before.
So what we don't know can't hurt us?

Even the IMF refer to how inequalities harm economic growth.

We know that inequalities are exaggerated by economic inefficiency (e.g. rents created by wage underpayment). But we certainly need to focus on how inequalities further increase economic inefficiency. For example, more equal societies have higher self employment rates. It encourages SME creation. Also countries with higher poverty tend to have structural flaws, such as over reliance on home ownership and reliance on consumerism through pricing bubbles.

Do you know how he got the data? Do you know that it took more than ten-years in some instances. (The estimation has been done world-wide.)

Yes, over a long period of time, economic data can become more-or-less clear. Anybody who has done any real economic R&D understands that fact.

But you are employing that fact to cast disdain upon Piketty's work. Cheap shot!

The work has been praised by many an economist as truly factual evidence of Income Distribution over a significant period of time and on an international scale. Showing clearly the acute Income Disparity that exists in America.

Yet another statement showing you are blind to the facts. Those that both Piketty and (much earlier) another professor (Domhoff at UofCal) had estimated as well.

I've already posted the Piketty infographic. Here is the graphic estimation made by Domhoff (a bit dated but still indicative of the real facts):
    [IMG] [IMG]

You are refusing credible information from economic research that undermines your dearly held but wrong notion that America has no Income Disparity.

But, you are blind to the economic facts ...

You've dived to the bottom with your eyes wide-shut.

I'm not following you there - it is so full of Rightist knee-jerking bullshat ...

Moving right along. Bye bye ...

'What we don't know' actions are just a witch hunt. If we look into anything deep enough we will find problems. If you wish to spend taxpayer money and time to chase your 'what we don't know' scenarios seems to me having some metrics upfront is a good place to start...

well, to a liberal when wealth is distributed peacefully in voluntary Republican capitalist transactions it is unfair but when it is distributed at the point of a liberal gun it is fair!! That is how lowly the liberal really is!!

Layfayette spams us from Economist all the time. What does that teach you? Show us an example of pro capitalism from Economist. What does your inability teach you?

I would say that he's arguably a right wing plant.

That you don't know that the Economist is a neoliberal rag shows your lack of knowledge. That you would argue otherwise shows a lack of sense.

Don't look, you might find something?
We are constantly spending taxpayer money on 'what we don't know' scenarios and government has no problem spending money to acquire metrics in 'support' of creating new spending programs.

Please, the "spending taxpayer money" is trite and boringly overused.

You forget that "taxpayer money" in the form of 54% of the Discretionary Budget (meaning the part left-over after all non-discretionary payments are made) goes to the DoD to police the world - and save us all from a nuclear-attack by ISIS! (And other such bullshat that is employed to defend outrageously unnecessary expenditures of Our Tax Dollars! )

The nation's priority today would be far better served by spending half that total annual DOD-expenditure ($622.6B) on free scholarships for Tertiary Education of our youth! Enough for 31 million kids (yes!) a year at state schools costing $20K per student* ... !

*See here for cost estimate of public-school 4-year degree.
