    On Saturday The President Tweetwed;
"The European Union, wonderful countries who treat the U.S. very badly on trade, are complaining about the tariffs on Steel & Aluminum. If they drop their horrific barriers & tariffs on U.S. products going in, we will likewise drop ours. Big Deficit. If not, we Tax Cars etc. FAIR!"

I've always said we could do with MORE American products here; like more cars from America, more food and snacks, why the Hell haven't we got more American products in Europe?!

They're here, but they're not common place.
It's the EU making things harder for American products to come into our market.

You may laugh, but Tesco or nobody puts a sneeze guard in at the bakery section or bothers to wrap up the uncut bread and our eggs aren't bleached.
Iceland *the UK supermarket chain not the country* get away with it because they have no fresh bread, even their wrapped up Tiger Loaf is horrible.
What's in the bleach that America uses to make eggshells white
    Vs.
What are we getting exposed to for leaving our eggs unbleached
    ?

EU/US we're screwed, be it canned cheese or tasteless strawberries.

Still, the EU have VW cheating emissions tests making it harder for America to sell here bullying America and the UK saying a war not really saying how it's now suddenly a trade war but not saying how hard it is to get things from America into Europe.

    ah bollocks everyone does that!
Its easy to get things in UK! I just bought an acrylic floor varnish (use it for gloss coating models) which you cannot buy here in the UK can only get it in the US - its a clear liquid so the UK safety geeks think some bozo kid will drink it so its banned....good old Amazon...3 days at the doorstep.

I recently paid to get 2 American antique guitars into the EU/my home.
Would have been easier if those guitars were in the EU but they weren't; I had them imported into the EU.

But need I remind, Brexit has friends in The White House?

VAT aside it's the import duty (which means importing into the EU, not UK).
I want better trade with America as well as the EU.

Import duty is paid to somebody in Brussels while we remain in the EU, the same people promising to war with Trump, vowing to annex parts of the UK.

    That's the goal.
But what will they want in return?
    Will they want our steel?

They seem to want countries to honour NATO spending...
If it wasn't for the EU, UK might be eligible to be exempt already.

I know British based Land Rover doesn't want to be hit with an US tariff extending to EU cars while the UK's in the EU.

    The US will talk to the EU about the EU tariffs on American products already in place;
    https://www.cnbc.com/2018/03/12/com...-with-eu-about-ending-tariffs-against-us.html
The EU has two options, either remove the tariffs for peace and fair trade with America...
Or slap a tariff on Whiskey...

Seems the EU can either choose peace here with America and get to be exempt by getting things into the EU easier for America.
Since the EU decided it'll hit America with a tariff first, why does the EU stand up to peace?

No they won't. British steel exported to the US is high grade steel. Special steel.
Illinois just opened a new steel plant to replicate it. "Bringing back 1,000 jobs to America",

They really don't want our steel at all.
Liam Fox will come home empty handed.

Trade deals with America is not the goal.
They are our biggest trade partner and we have balanced trade with them.
The very last thing we want with America is a trade deal to **** this all up, EU style.

No deal is the goal. Which is what we currently have and what is working fantastically for us. And them.
