The Daily Caller reports that the FBI “failed to preserve five months of text messages" exchanged between two anti-Trump FBI employees who may have compromised on going investigations such as the Clinton e-mail scandal and the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

The Daily Caller’s Chuck Ross reports that “The disclosure was made Friday in a letter sent by the Justice Department to the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee (HSGAC).

'The Department wants to bring to your attention that the FBI’s technical system for retaining text messages sent and received on FBI mobile devices failed to preserve text messages for Mr. Strzok and Ms. Page,' Stephen Boyd, the assistant attorney general for legislative affairs at the Justice Department, wrote to Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson, the chairman of HSGAC

He said that texts are missing for the period between Dec. 14, 2016 and May 17, 2017.”

As noted by Ross, May 17, 2017 is of particular significance. That is the day special counsel Robert Mueller took over the Russian investigation. Correct or not, the fact that text messages between Mr. Strzok and Ms. Page from the previous mysteriously disappeared is sure to draw suspicion that something nefarious was occurring at the FBI during that time. .....snip~

Imagine that.....expect the leftness to come with its just a coincidincy. Glad the FBI at least admitted it. Now they can suffer any consequences deemed necessary. What say ye?

Looks like its just those 2 named. But if the Repubs are smart. They will subpoena Twitter as they have them.

Which is something that the Demo Operatives in the FBI forgot about.

The NSA deleted tomes of FISA surveillance data that they were under court order to preserve. That data going all the way back to the Bush admin. When Bob Mueller was FBI director, and the systematic abuses of the NSA surveillance apparatus began. Mueller has likely devoted most of his time trying to "sanitize" records related to his own tenure as director. Comey was Muellers protege. When Comey became director we saw the same familliar pattern of misconduct by the agency. FISA abuses, destruction of subpoenaed materials, and blatant defiance of congressional oversight.

Did or did not the FBI agents compromise the investigation? Yes or no.

That sort of question is usually answered with evidence... unless you are a liberal and it all misteriously gets deleted.

They also forgot NSA has the Tweets along with Twitter too.

So its not a smart move by the Demo Operatives in the FBI.

And just because the FBI admits to not following protocol doesn't meanthey get to escape any consequences.

In every investigation into liberal crimes there is an unusual situation involving deleted or "lost" e-mails.

    Why is that?

I doubt the FBI sent anything over to them for the time period.

The FBI was one of the last non-corrupt agencies but we can see the level of corruption is so extreme, I don't think we will ever recover. Trump cannot do it alone and the next president will not share wanting to drain the swamp, especially the most blatantly corrupt democrats. We can see how the attempt to drain the swamp has gone, the left will do anything to keep the swamp form being drained and the right is almost as bad. The nation has been ruined beyond repair.

When I first read about this, and then read subsequent articles detailing the significant events that took place during the time period covered, I dropped my head.

    WTH!

A major figure in all this BS, quietly removed and sent to a Siberia like post, who's provocative and potentially damning tweets with a person he was having an affair with, has tweets covering an important period disappear.

    Really? REALLY?

    Again, WTH!!

This is what the Mopes in the FBI are saying.

Boyd attributed the failure to “misconfiguration issues related to rollouts, provisioning, and software upgrades that conflicted with the FBI’s collection capabilities.”

“The result was that data that should have been automatically collected and retained for long-term storage and retrieval was not collected,” Boyd wrote......snip~

Oversight should say thanks for admitting to the **** up. Are you ready to pay the price.

Misconfiguration issues related to.......somehow pushing the erase button and then answering "YES" when the "Are you sure" window popped up.

Hawaii just went through a similar oops.

I can't help but think of the odds a unicorn wandered down the halls of the FBI.....
