The Florida Legislature Has Rejected All Anti-Gun Control Bills

It was another very tough Legislative Session in Florida this year. Anti-gun Democrats were emboldened by Michael Bloomberg's money. His money had been strategically placed to help pass another major gun control bill.

Democrats filed so many gun ban, gun control, ammo and magazine ban bills this year that one had to wonder if they were filing the worst bills they could think of in order to attract some of Bloomberg's money for themselves.

Thanks to strong Second Amendment supporting legislators, who are true Republicans, and are committed to protecting constitutional rights, none of those bad bills passed.

We look forward to real Republican leadership in the Florida Senate next Session.

Below is a list of some of the worst bills that we worked to keep from passing this past session. In all, we dealt with a list of over 125 bills that could have spelled trouble for gun and hunting rights. It is worth noting that the Florida House leadership and Governor Ron DeSantis were standing tall to protect Second Amendment rights the whole Session.

HB-117 CW License/ Requires Psychiatric/Mental Health Exam - by Rep. AI Jacquet (D) Requires a mental health evaluation by a licensed psychiatrist & a letter attesting that the applicant is of sound mind and competent to carry a firearm for CW License Applicants . DIED IN COMMITTEE

HB-245 Firearms Prohibited - by Rep. Cindy Polo (D) Prohibits concealed weapon or firearm license holder from openly carrying handgun or carrying concealed weapon or firearm into any
child care facility. DIED IN COMMITTEE

HB-289 Background Check to Purchase Ammo - by Rep. Dan Daley (D) Requires background checks for sale or transfer of ammunition. DIED IN COMMITTEE

HB-451 Universal Background Checks - by Rep. Margaret Good (D) Requires a background check on all persons involved with the sale or transfer of any and all firearms. DIED IN COMMITTEE

HB-627 Ban of Assault Weapons and Large-Capacity Magazines - by Rep. Carlos G. Smith (D) Bans sale, transfer and possession of a long list of so-called "assault weapons" and bans sale, transfer and possession of any magazine that holds or is capable of holding more than 10 rounds. HB-885 Gun Control by Local Governments - by Rep. Cindy Polo (D) to specifically allow
local governments to regulate firearms and ammunition and impose gun control. DIED IN COMMITTEE

HB-809 Fingerprint Database of CW License Holders - by Rep. Javier Fernandez (D) Creates a Permanent Fingerprint Database of CW License Holders; Decreases the number of years that CW Licenses are valid. Requires PROOF of NEW training at every license renewal. DIED IN COMMITTEE

S8-586 Private Sales of Firearms by Sen. Jose Rodriguez (D) Prohibits private sale or transfer of firearms EXCEPT sales or transfers between two CW License holders. Requires such a seller or transferor to retain a copy of the buyer's or transferee's concealed weapons or firearms license and the serial number of the firearm sold, etc. DIED IN COMMITTEE

SB-634 Prohibiting the Lawful Ownership, Possession, and Use of Firearms - by Sen. Bobby Powell (D) Prohibiting a person from owning, possessing, and lawfully using firearms and other weapons, ammunition, and supplies for hunting, fishing, or camping within 1,500 feet of the real property which comprises any school, any house of worship, any government building, or any guarded beach. Like Energizer bunny’s, they keep trying. Somebody needs to remove the batteries.

Texas and Florida are a lot closer to turning Blue than many people realize.

Take a look at these bills, because they are a look 10 or 15 years into the future.


California was like how Florida is now, 20 years ago. And take a look what has been happening in Virginia over the last few years.

 

That white boy looks like a real wooss.

 

Short of simply killing those who are responsible for these changes, what can ultimately be done about the matter? Unless viewpoint discrimination is practiced, holding that certain beliefs are too dangerous to be allowed in the united states, and holding that those who possess such beliefs are to be treated as enemies of the state who have engaged in treason, such change does not appear possible to stop.

 

What has been happening is not a matter of people changing their personal opinions, or a younger generation having a different views than their elders.
The change is a result mass movement of people, trends that have been going on for a few decades, but are now coming to a head.
Here's one clue: Reproductive rates among Americans are relatively static, or even slightly negative, so if you see the population in an area has been going up over the last 15 years, it's a pretty certain indication that is a result of movement of population into the area from somewhere else.

In general, the areas with the most unaffordable housing also have the highest level of gun control laws. So you see those people leaving those areas, wanting to live in another trendy destination in another part of the country, but changing all the local laws to make the new place more like home.

 

Therefore turning it into the same s-hole they fled.

 

Once again, short of simply killing those who are responsible for these changes, what can ultimately be done about the matter?

Yup. Those are the correct tests.

Correct again, the State law interfered with our fundamental right own and operate firearms.

Yup. That's the correct standard when a Legislature interferes with our fundamental human rights.

That is an excellent point.

Good.

Correct.

OK, but is this the least restrictive means of accomplishing that interest?

Correct. And now to make it appeal proof.

A very good decision that carefully weighs state interests against our fundamental rights as Free Citizens.

 

Guns are good again. More and more women like guns. Because you may have to aggressively protect your home and family, more so now with police departments defunded and veteran officers retiring early. It's a much more dangerous country than it was in early May.

 

That's why the anti's want us disarmed, with law enforcement neutered where are all that is left to block them.

Big concerns ling term however. Elections here are too tight for my comfort level. Too many blue transplants, we do appreciate the money, but their votes are going to screw things up.

8/10 years from now some of this crap will start passing.

Yup that's why we love our tourists and loathe the NE transplants.

 

Where will they go when there is nowhere left to flee?

 

Back to an area they fled from that was rebuilt and made into something nice to live in, but totally surrounded by the newer hood.

I have always felt uncomfortable when I've seen photos & videos of men in the Middle East carrying automatic weapons everywhere they go. It felt primitive & dangerous. Now, for the first time in my life, I'm seeing Americans going around doing the same thing. It's discomforting. It's like seeing time traveling backwards--America going from a highly sophisticated, advanced society reverting to some form of sick tribalism. It's intimidating because I don't know--can't know--what mental state the gun toting person is in, or how dangerous he might be. I don't need that additional stress in my life. I don't for a minute believe the 2nd Amendment intended to allow such naked anti-social behaviors to project themselves over peaceful society. I don't like it. No American needs to carry, or even own, an automatic weapon. Hunters can't use them, & non-aggressive, peace-loving Americans like me, don't want the additional stress they introduce into society around them.

 

And none of those firearms you are seeing are automatic weapons, your lack of knowledge about firearms is what is causing your unreasonable fear of them, not what you are seeing and misunderstanding.

Study learn and life will be better, but don't impose your irrational fears upon the rights of others.

Or is that too much to ask?

 

This is common among the anti-gun crowd - they fear what they do not understand, and they choose to not understand.

 

In my mind, there should be a right for myself & others to reside in a peaceful, peace-loving society without armaments. I don't care whether they are automatic or not. They are weapons, & unnecessary. It takes only a single bullet coupled with one insane mind to kill you.

 

It's because he knows if he can get a major gun control bill passed, it will cause more conservatives to get fed up and leave the state, and bring the state much closer to tipping blue, which would really not be good for Republicans because Florida is a crucial state for electoral votes in the Senate and Presidential elections.

Besides from Texas, Florida is the last major-population big-city state that still has more conservative-like pro-gun policies.
