People of the same mindset insisted that the indigenous American Indians were savages and needed to be whiped out before they destroyed us all, which was used as the pretext for stealing their land. They opposed outlawing slavery and the Civil Rights Act. They are the same kind of people who were weak minded enough to be indoctrinated by Nazi Germany's propaganda system into supporting the Third Reich's program of conquest and mass murder.

How do you figure a December 20, 2010 article goes in "Latest News"?
So many abuse this section to get read and Propagandize.
In this case, of course, the article refuted by recent events.

Yep. It's all over the TV here in Kazakhstan, mobs of islamophobes running around western capitals, burning Islamic flags, murdering ambassadors from Muslim countries, diplomatic personnel, innocent civilians, rampaging, rioting, destroying property... Did I miss anything? LOL some people need to get real.

When you have large numbers of people here calling for the systematic extermination of the Arab population you cant point fingers at anyone.

I am a little confused as to your point. The media focuses on the failings of modern religion whenever possible.

If I were watching the news and had no clue about the essential values of Christianity I would think that it was only about denying gay rights and restricting women's reproductive practices.

The middle east is a volatile place, in no small part because of American intervention and economic-political manipulation. But mobs losing control over religious issues to the extent they have in the last decade does nothing to improve public sentiment about Islam.

Don't expect mainstream media to treat one zealot any more fairly than another.

All institutionalized religions have a lot flaws but Im pretty sure the outrage (mostly peaceful protests) and atrocities were seeing on televsion is an accumulation of what the article I showed points out.

I apologize. Just scanned the article. Do get your point now.

I wish more people would try to understand the point of view you are trying to reveal. If one religion can be attacked in this way how long until another?

I think that right now most people are in a heat about the recent riots and killings, it may be the wrong time to try to get through to them.

I will state this - I have never met a follower of Islam I did not respect. I have found them to be intelligent and thoughtful. Anyone who thinks they are better than another simply because of their faith is ignorant.

    Peace.

Long beards are a sign of Sloth, one of the seven deadly sins unto God. God hates long beards because they are unclean, smelly and are a sign of laziness.

Men had long, stinky beards like goats back in the olden days because good razors hadn't been invented and personal grooming and cleanliness wasn't cool. God hates stinky hairy freaks.

People can perceive this because the stench offends mere mortals as well.

Long beards itch because God wants you to be uncomfortable with such an abomination.

It's pretty basic stuff. The road were on we'll only lead to "rivers of blood" which Im starting to believe may be the goal of the islamophobic movement. That is why they support Israel's expansion anyways. They believe it will trigger the apocalypse and then all Jews will have to convert or die.

Considering the attacks around the world on U.S. embassies...over a patheticly made home movie...I'm just gonna go ahead and say maybe its time to admit that Islam isn't the religion of peace.

The Islamophobes are making the big mistake of identifying all Muslims with the Islamo-fascist extremists (I used to like the term Islamist, but the press has abused it too much) like Al-Qaeda, the Taliban, the Salafists and hardcore Wahabis. This tendency has probably arisen because the Muslim world has been slow to condemn or oppose the Islamo-fascists.

Osama bin Laden is on record as having said that his reason for carrying out the 9/11 attacks (stripping off the rhetoric about Jihad and punishing the corrupting West and getting U.S. troops out of Saudi Arabia) was to provoke a backlash in the West which would drive most Muslims into the arms of Al-Qaeda and its ilk (create an "us or them" mentality). The Islamophobes are thus unwittingly acting as agents for Al-Qaeda: way to go, guys!

Islamism has no place in this world or the next.

Islamists must be stopped at every turn.

I'm trying to understand the direction of your post here. Are you saying that all islamophobic people hate American Indians and steal their property, would like to put African Americans "back in chains", and are NAZI's as well or just some of them are?

I am not an Islamophobic, but I do have cutmyheadoffophobia, which is the fear of having my head cut off by a idiot Muslim extremist, and also suicidebomberophobia, which is the fear of being blown up by another idiot Muslim extremist. I may have aeroislamophobia which is the fear of flying with idiot Muslims extremists dressed like Muslims extremists.

I agree with the OP, although I wouldn't necessarily consider most Muslim-Americans moderate. They're probably moderate on a lot of topics, but Muslims (in general) tend to lean conservative on gay rights, abortion, speech against religion, sex education, and things like birth control and premarital sex.

Ironically, they seem to have a lot in common on social views with evangelical Christians -- despite the fact that a lot of evangelicals distrust them.

Economically, Muslim-Americans tend to vary more in their stances.

Refuted? It's gotten worse and the embassy stormers have given it a high octane boost.

The people that hate ALL muslims and arabs are the same kind of people that did all those things. How is that over your head?

I agree! There's extremists in every religion. I just thinks its wrong to focus on only one of them. Did you know when we were at war in Southeast Asia there was wisdespread Asianphobia in the US? Even against Bruce Lee.

I think all this talk of religion is missing the reality of what is going on.
Do you think if Arab nations were in the G20 and their people owned their owns homes and had their own garden some with pools, or could turn no a tap even and see water pour out, that they'd be so hung up on religion.

Fact is where you find poverty you find poor education = ignorance and there is the spring of religious fanaticism. Because your life now is so bad you need to find something not to kill yourself right now - religion has a way of appealing to the needy and desporate.

And of course while you're poor and angry reading page after page of your Koran, what's going to really (*)(*)(*)(*) you off is seeing people who have all the things you want in life, security opportunity certain levels of personal freedom (flaunted all over Youtube).

This has nothing to do with religion but economics which is subject to the alpha system - the inevitable heirarchry of competition. Like pack animals humans live in a hierarchical system, its visible in your family to an office to a country to the power struggles between countries.

The Arab world is angry because its a loser it can't win the race and so its trying to trip up the other runners, it tries to gain a sense of power and importance through shows of violence and terrorism. The catch-22 is that in order to gain a better economic "more competitive" culture it has to evolve into a structured semi-democratic system, this kind of political and social setup requires emotional intelligence beyond that displayed in the Arab world. I don't see a bright future for the Middle East. The Arab Spring is just another chapter in history of chaos, turmoil and death.

Oh boy, another made-up word to deflect from the truth: Islamophobia.

Right, those Islamo-Facists are so peaceful. Pay no attention to the burning, raping and murdering on the nightly news. Its all a rightwing computer generated trick. In fact, currently our ambassador to Libya is vacationing in Disneyworld.

I hope that those of us who claim to be Americans can do better than what we are seeing in the Middle East. Everyone has a right to their belief until they come into my yard and try to kill me. We are better that that I hope.

Do you understand how many muslims there are in the world? If you're right that ALL muslims are savage violent killers than there should be a lot more terror, especially after alll these decades of Washington's imperial policies in the region of propping up their dictators, creating, training, financing, and arming their secret police and militaries, and blocking political and economic progress in the interest of controling their markets and resources.
