Don't think I'd go that far. But he could have outed Trump at almost any time during his presidency by refusing to be a part of any one of a few hundred egregiously harmful acts. He didn't. He stayed silent and went along. It's unforgivable.

Pence knew mid-December that he wasn't going to go along with Trump's illegal delusions on Jan6th.
He had all the legal advice needed then and remained silent.
Knowing that then Mr. Christo-fascist should have had his "come to Jesus" thingy yet he let the madness manifest and the rest is history.

Pence is so transparent with his every word geared towards not alienating Trump's GQP base.
You're right about his narcissism, he can't even see that he's their enemy #1.

Mark Meadows ordered to testify in Trump investigation

South Carolina’s Supreme Court has unanimously ordered former White House Chief of staff Mark Meadows to testify to an Atlanta-area grand jury investigating Donald Trump’s effort to overturn the election in Georgia.

“We have reviewed the arguments raised by [Meadows] and find them to be manifestly without merit,” South Carolina’s Supreme Court justices wrote in a brief opinion.

    Presumably, Mark knows a lot.

Anthony Ornato, a Key Jan. 6 Witness, to Speak With House Panel

WASHINGTON — Anthony M. Ornato, the former Secret Service agent and White House aide at the heart of a dispute over conflicting accounts of President Donald J. Trump’s actions during the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, is scheduled to be interviewed on Tuesday before the House committee investigating the attack, according to two people familiar with the matter.

The committee has sought for weeks to re-interview Mr. Ornato as it digs deeper into the activities of the Secret Service around the time of Jan. 6, 2021, an area of inquiry that members believe is one of the most important final pieces of unfinished business before the panel completes its much-anticipated report into the attack.

Mr. Ornato, who as deputy White House chief of staff oversaw the logistics of the president’s movements outside, is key to a dispute over the events in a presidential S.U.V. that day. Cassidy Hutchinson, a former White House aide, testified to lawmakers that Mr. Ornato told her that Mr. Trump became enraged and demanded to join a crowd of his supporters at the Capitol.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2022/11/28/us/politics/tony-ornato-jan-6-committee.html

Will he contradict Cassidy H. under oath. I don't think so but perjury is always an option under the circumstances.

The J6 committee/DOJ have other witnesses that could confirm Hutchinson's testimony.
We all know that juicy gossip like what she said Trump did spread like wildfire.
Trump's/GOP stooges are most likely also paying for Ornato's attorney.

Team Trump’s Stephen Miller reportedly testifies to Jan. 6 grand jury

As multiple probes into Jan. 6 continue to unfold, investigators are eager to hear from members of Donald Trump’s inner circle, who have unique insights into the former president’s efforts. Stephen Miller, not surprisingly, is near the top of the list.

In April, the far-right former White House adviser sat down with the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack for more than eight hours, testifying, among other things, about Trump’s pre-riot speech at the Ellipse.

Miller, now there's a guy who deserves to spend some time in a medieval stock.

IRS gives Trump tax returns to House committee after 3-year legal battle

The IRS has given six years of former President Donald Trump’s federal income tax returns to the House Ways and Means Committee, a week after the Supreme Court rejected his effort to block the Democratic-controlled panel from getting those records.

The committee had been seeking Trump’s tax returns since 2019, when the Republican was still president.

A Treasury Department spokesperson told NBC News, “Treasury has complied with last week’s court decision.” The Treasury Department is the parent of the Internal Revenue Service.

The Ways and Means Committee has said it wanted copies of Trump’s returns, and the tax returns of several Trump legal entities, for an inquiry into how the IRS audits presidential tax returns. By law, the tax agency audits the returns of a sitting president every year.

    https://www.cnbc.com/2022/11/30/irs...ouse-committee-after-3-year-legal-battle.html

Given that the committee only has a short time to review the docs you could say Don was rewarded for his strategy of stonewalling congressional demands for information and or testimony.

Prosecutor: Donald Trump knew about exec's tax fraud scheme

    Source: AP

NEW YORK (AP) — Donald Trump “knew exactly what was going on” with top Trump Organization executives who schemed for years to dodge taxes on company-paid perks, a prosecutor said Thursday, challenging defense claims that the former president was unaware of the plot at the heart of the company’s tax fraud case. Manhattan prosecutor Joshua Steinglass lobbed the bombshell allegation during closing arguments.

He promised to share more details when he resumes on Friday, buoyed by the judge’s decision to grant prosecutors permission to veer into territory that had been considered off limits because Trump is not on trial. Judge Juan Manuel Merchan, overruling a defense objection after the jury had left court, said the company’s lawyers opened the door by asserting in their closing arguments that Trump was ignoring of the scheme, hatched by his longtime finance chief just steps from his Trump Tower office.

“It was the defense who invoked the name Donald Trump numerous times,” Merchan said, setting up a potentially explosive final day of arguments before jurors deliberate next week. Prosecutors had given mixed signals about Trump’s importance to the case, telling a judge early on, “this case is not about Donald Trump,” but then repeatedly asking witnesses about him; showing a witness copies of Trump’s tax returns and, ultimately, seeking to connect the dots to him in closing arguments.

Trump has denied any knowledge of the scheme, writing Tuesday on his Truth Social platform: “There was no gain for ‘Trump,’ and we had no knowledge of it.” :roflol:

Steinglass said the Trump Organization “cultivated a culture of fraud and deception” by lavishing luxe perks on executives and falsifying records to hide the compensation."

You have to be supremely naive to think a serial criminal and tax cheat like Don didn't come up with the fraudulent scheme let alone not know about it.

Appeals court rejects Trump lawsuit in Mar-a-Lago documents case

A federal appeals court panel has scrapped former President Donald Trump’s lawsuit aimed at derailing the FBI’s investigation of classified records stashed at his Mar-a-Lago estate after he left the White House.

The three-judge panel’s unsparing ruling moves to shut down an outside review of the Justice Department’s use of nearly 3,000 documents the FBI seized from former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in August. And it deals Trump a devastating legal setback as he seeks to block the criminal probe into his purported retention of national security information, theft of government records and obstruction of justice.

Trump's legal woes just keep piling up

Two of Donald Trump’s top White House lawyers appeared before at least one grand jury Friday, visiting the federal courthouse in Washington, D.C. amid multiple criminal probes involving the former president.

Former White House Counsel Pat Cipollone exited the courthouse just before 2:30 p.m., spending about six hours behind closed doors. His former deputy, Pat Philbin, departed just after 4 p.m., spending about four hours with the grand jury.

Pat Cipollone when testifying for the J6 said that Pence deserved the Presidential Medal of Freedom for not blocking the electoral college vote.
Cippollone and Pence are very close and also share the batshit Evangelical agenda,.political and religious.
    That in itself tells us he's not out to protect Trump;

I don't know how executive privilege works before a grand Jury if he has no problem telling all he knows about his and Trump's exchanges?
I always saw the person who claims EP as wanting to shield the president and had the right to claim EP?
    A voluntary decision?

    This made me laugh

"It’s unclear precisely which investigation the pair were testifying about.
Cipollone and Philbin have insight about Trump’s machinations ahead of Jan. 6, when he attempted to subvert his defeat in the 2020 election and seize a second term. But they were also both present in the final days of Trump’s White House as boxes of documents — including highly sensitive national security secrets — were packed and shipped to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate."

Both matters are the subject of criminal inquiries that are being considered by grand jurors in Washington D.C."

I think Trump is much too stupid to have come up with it.
That is what he pays big $$$ for, others who know how to wheel and deal systems to save him money.
It's always all about Trump and if anyone is going to get something from him you can be damn sure he's getting more than his fair share in return.
He definitely knew of and approved all the tax schemes...imo

This may be the most definitive example yet of Trump's personal unraveling.

Top Republicans stay silent on Trump’s call to terminate the Constitution

Top Republicans have stayed silent as the White House strongly criticized former President Donald Trump for suggesting that the Constitution be terminated in his ongoing efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

In a post to his Truth Social platform Saturday, Trump called for the termination of the Constitution to put him back in power, citing his baseless claims of widespread election fraud in the last presidential election. “A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution,” he wrote.

Trump’s post came after Twitter CEO Elon Musk promoted a series of tweets Friday revealing internal documents about how the company handled a New York Post article about Hunter Biden in 2020.

In a statement to NBC News and other news outlets, the White House said attacks on the Constitution should be “universally condemned."

House January 6 committee has decided to make criminal referrals, chairman says

    CNN —
The House select committee investigating the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol has decided to make criminal referrals to the Department of Justice, the panel’s chairman, Rep. Bennie Thompson, told reporters Tuesday.

Thompson, a Mississippi Democrat, said the committee has not narrowed down the universe of individuals who may be referred.
Asked whether Thompson believed any witnesses perjured themselves, he said, “that’s part of the discussion.”

When the panel makes referrals, Thompson said it will be a separate document from the panel’s final report that will be sent to DOJ.
The committee is expected to meet later Tuesday.

A source tells CNN the criminal referrals the January 6 committee will ultimately be making “will be focused on the main organizers and leaders of the attacks.”

    https://www.cnn.com/2022/12/06/politics/january-6-committee-criminal-referrals

How could they not given the evidence they have? Evidence the DoJ either has or will have soon.

Special Counsel Subpoenas 5 Key Counties For Trump Comms Around 2020 Election

Special Counsel Jack Smith obtained grand jury subpoenas last month for communications between Trump, his campaign, and top campaign staffers and local officials in Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania. TPM has reviewed a subpoena issued to the Milwaukee County Clerk, dated Nov. 22.

The subpoenas went to five counties in swing states where the Trump campaign sought to reverse the election results in 2020.
They are Dane County, Wisconsin, Maricopa County, Arizona, and Wayne County, Michigan, the Washington Post reported. TPM confirmed Tuesday that another subpoena was sent to officials in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and received a copy of the subpoena issued to Milwaukee County. Smith, who was appointed by Garland last month, is not known to have issued any subpoenas before this batch of demands.

The subpoenas request any and all communications with the Trump campaign, Trump, and a series of aides that include 2020 campaign manager Bill Stepien and attorneys Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, John Eastman, and Cleta Mitchell.

Manhattan DA hires ex-senior DOJ official as office investigates Trump

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has hired a former senior Justice Department official to work on the office’s “most sensitive and high-profile white-collar investigations,” which comes as the office investigates former President Trump.

Bragg announced on Monday that Matthew Colangelo, who acted as the Justice Department’s No. 3 official last year and previously investigated the Trump Foundation, will serve as senior counsel.

Colangelo also served in New York Attorney General Letitia James’s (D) office, where he worked on multiple investigations into the Trump administration as well as the former president’s private foundation.

Classified Documents Found in Trump Search of Storage Site

Former President Donald J. Trump hired people to search four properties after being directed by a federal judge to look harder for any classified material still in his possession, and they found at least two documents with classified markings inside a sealed box in one of the locations, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Mr. Trump’s search team discovered the documents at a federally run storage site in West Palm Beach, Fla., the person said, prompting his lawyers to notify the Justice Department about them.

DOJ asks judge to hold Trump in contempt over classified documents subpoena, reports say

The Department of Justice has asked a federal judge to hold former President Donald Trump or his office in contempt of court over failing to comply with a subpoena that requires him to turn over all documents marked classified in his possession, two reports said Thursday.

Prosecutors for the department last week told U.S. District Court Chief Judge Beryl Howell in Washington, D.C., that searches for such documents performed by Trump’s team of four locations before Thanksgiving were not satisfactory, CNN reported.

The Washington Post, which earlier reported on the contempt request, said a key issue of dispute between the DOJ and Trump’s legal team has been his team’s repeated refusal to designate someone as a custodian of records who could state that all classified records have been returned to the government.

    https://www.cnbc.com/2022/12/08/doj-asks-judge-to-hold-trump-in-contempt-over-classified-docs.html

The DoJ is rightly fed up with Trump's lack of cooperation. He should be charged with obstruction of a federal investigation.
