Actually, Bush was warned about a 9/11 type attack by the outgoing admin and the outgoing admin was accused of obsessing on binLadin by Republicans. And do you really want to bring up the Bush admin's handling of the Katrina response?

Why should it not be brought up for comparison? Every president of the united states has been perceived and considered a failure of their times and their administration, for failing to do what the public believed they should have done at the time.

Obama's failure? We know Bush was a screw up but pales in comparison to Trump. Except for that Iraq thing, that was colossal. I guess your point is Republicans go for the really big screw ups that could have been avoided.

Trying to justify Trump's failure to lead and thereby maximizing the covid impact by saying to look at others is not a defense. At least Bush led, albeit in a bad direction.

And what did Barack Obama do that made him any better? What did Bill Clinton do that made him any better? There has not been a good president of the united states in over six decades.

Using your rational we should just accept screw ups because others may have been?

Accept the fact that every president of the united states is going to be a failure for one reason or another, and stop acting surprised when such facts appear.

It says so right on the mask box, "wearing these will save 30,000 lives" How could we have missed that?

Americans are dying, left wingers and right wingers and yet all the left sees is an opportunity to attack Trump. True Blue Americans.

And, more importantly and less recognized, is the long term effects of the virus on those infected. We will be dealing with this for decades.

Which he is doing but it is really difficult to protect us from both Covid and the DNC.

I'm not sure the families of the 158,000 COVID victims and the 30 million newly unemployed would agree with that.

They should vote Republican, anyone looking at what the two factions advocate should see that clearly.

When we are 4% of the world population, but have 25% of the world's covid cases, it is kind of hard to deflect from the current leader and say "but Dems would have done worse". How much worse could it get?

    Yes.
The American people elect the incompetent imbeciles in DC. So they deserve all of this.

Stop with party over politics. Vote out every incumbent.

    Why is this happening...?

Why can't we do as well as British Columbia (5m people)?

BC never had a stay-at-home order, has opened bars and restaurants with social distancing, and will start the school year after Labor Day with K-5 going full time, and older students part time.

You're torqued over what someone to put on the box?

The science is clear: masks cut transmission. It's also a fact that wearing an N100 respirator and a face shield will, worn properly, cut your chance of being infected to close to zero.
    PROPAGANDA ALERT!

Suggest you tell Trump to deal with COVID-19. This is unacceptable...

A lot more than leftwingers want to get rid of Trump.

Here in red state Ms..my town and county has mandatory masking.. And because you can get fined people are wearing them.

We have a high black population here given this area used to be a plantation area of the state. And black folks have been hit hard by covid. Most whites here are Republicans and they are not griping about masking up.

If mandatory masking will reduce deaths to say we don't need masking is south of silly.

Reducing or minimizing death is what the sane want. If a political ideology makes one insane perhaps the ideology is just stupid?

There are a lot of overweight folks in the South and I'm not surprised people are masking up to protect family and friends. Just about everyone knows someone in a high-risk category.

Just about everyone thinks we have a problem.

There are only so many tools in the box to cut the number of new cases. We either give in and let COVID-19 rip the hell out of the country, hoping we get to herd immunity, or we take a combination of steps to get the job done.

We have to be careful that we are all working for solution for the same problem.
